We have our new kitty in a bathroom of our house. Our old dog and cat we had no problems with because our dog was afraid of the bathroom. However this puppy is not, how can I keep him out of the kitty's room which has his the kitty's litterbox and food.

I wonder how big the dog is. I would try a baby gate but instead of installing it's bottom flat against the entrance to the bathroom, raise it up a bit so that kitty can go underneath to get to the box and food but the pup can't jump over.

Are you making the kitten stay in the bathroom all the time? A kitten needs more space than this. Also, the cat's food and litter box should not be to close together. You may put a cat door at the bottom of the bathroom door, to let the cat in and the dog out. Or you can give the cat a larger space, and put the litter box and food up high out of the dogs reach.

Baby gate or if the cat is old and the dog is big you can cut a cat size hole in the gate so the cat doesn't have to jump. You can close the door but then your cat will be stuck in the one room and that will not be fun for him if he had run of the house before.

The best bet is get a low baby gate...one the kitty can jump over but the puppy can't. That way the kitty will also have a retreat to get away from the puppy for awhile if she wants to.

My next door neighbors have 4 cats and 4 dogs....the dogs and cats dont get along at all! SO heres what they do: But it may not work depending on the size of your house.Keep your kittens upstairs and then your dogs downstairs and you can switch or whatever. Or, if you have a door somewhere in your house that when you close it it blocks off half your house, just shut it and keep them seperated.ORRRRR baby gate or something..basment?

My old vet said litterboxes to dogs are like candy lol. I'd say try to raise them up high on a counter or something that's out of the dog's reach.

This may not be for you, but we have a deep closet underneath our stairs that we placed one of those small cat doors on. Just like the ones you put on say your back door or garage door for your dog or cat to go freely in and out as they please. We got ours just big enough for our cat, but keeps our American Eskimo out!! It works great. We keep our cats liter box and food in there.
Good luck!

I have two cats and one dog .In the beginning when my daughter brought a stray cat ,whom someone had injured we were cautious to prevent further injury to her from our dog .Gradually we brought them together and they have adapted well to each other .try to keep the kitten away in a room till she grows up and let dog see her in your lap for some time till he recognises the cat as your pet.Till then you have to keep him away when you are not present as he is capable of harming her.
