The universe might have been here forever... but that, increasingly, seems to be unlikely. However, a 'creator' is even MORE unlikely. In balance, the evidence weighs in most heavily on the side of naturalistic explanations... and I think that that Creationists have introduced a fatal flaw in their 'Intelligent Design' arguments, by asserting that the 'complexity' of creation demands a 'creator'.

The main argument for a creator seems to be 'complexity'; i.e., something as complex as the universe and the earth and life must have a creator... it is the only thing that makes sense. But, if you think about it (Christians are not renowned for their critical thinking ability), it makes no sense at all.

The argument implies that a complex creation requires that the creator must be more complex than the creation... otherwise, the creator would have been unable to create it. But IF complexity requires a more complex creator, THEN the fact of the creator's complexity means that it must also have been created. Remember, according to this argument, complexity cannot arise by itself. That being the case, then, we end up with an infinite regression... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... creation... creator... etc... ad infinitum... ad nauseum.

That, of course, is impossible... and thus, so is the concept of a creator... IF the argument for a creator is predicated on 'complexity'.

The simple observable fact, though, is that complexity arises from simplicity, in accordance with elementary natural rules.

Interested parties should look up "self-organizing complex systems".

Of course there is a Creator.

Take a look around you from where you sit. You will notice that everything in the room is "made":

the walls, the upholstery, the ceiling, the chair where you sit, the booklet you hold in your hand, the glass on the table and countless other details. None of them happen to exist in your room of their own accord.

Even the simple loops of the carpet were made by someone: they did not appear spontaneously or by chance.

As the computer u use has a creator (the Man) & the building u live in has a creator ( the man) , u have a Creator.......GOD

And In order to create, God has no need to design

It’s important that the word “design” be properly understood. That God has created a flawless design does not mean that He first made a plan and then followed it. God, the Lord of the Earth and the heavens, needs no “designs” in order to create. God is exalted above all such deficiencies. His planning and creation take place at the same instant.

Whenever God wills a thing to come about, it is enough for Him just to say, "Be!"

As verses of the Qur’an tell us:
His command when He desires a thing is just to say to it, “Be!” and it is. (Qur’an, 36: 82)
[God is] the Originator of the heavens and Earth.
When He decides on something, He just says to it, “Be!” and it is. (Qur’an, 2: 117)

Love the name!
No, the universe doesn't have a creator. It's pure science. The sad thing is that so many peopel have clouded their minds by religion that they are unwilling to look at the realities of the universe. Take for example the ancient greeks. Whenthere was a hurricane they blamed Neptune, the god of the sea just because they didn't know what created the storms. As science came around to explaining tropical storms, the very idea of a god bringing the storm out of anger was absurd.
Flash forward to today, we still have people blindly following religion, who on one hand think the greeks were idiots for believing in their gods, but still credit their own "god" and his son for all of the ills of the world. As time moves on and science reveals more religions will slowly die away.

Forever? What is that?
You're asking a question of primal cause that has been deliberated for millenia. You're going to get the answer here? I don't think so.

Start with the word forever. Do you mean there is no beginning and thus no end? Because if there was a beginning, what came before that? Then, this isn't the middle? Maybe there's no time. That one will keep you scratching your head for a lifetime, then you can move on to causes.

The Universe need not necessary to have a Creator. If there is a Creator, then who create the creator? May be you can say the final creator is powerful & self created. If that is so, then why didn't the universe self created?

Theresa answer is a good argument. I prefer to look at that there is a Creator. And that He existed. Wouldn't make since to have the Creator have a Creator. Because then you need another Creator for the Creator. Just keeps going. God is above our understanding.

No, it has been here forever. How can a universe materialize from nothing? Note that by universe I mean the totality of existence, not our observable universe.

Nope. Pick up a cosmology text book and the first thing you read about will probably be the big bang and the evidence supporting it.

Of course, when people started asking questions questions like yours they didn't have the knowledge and apparatus to come to such conclusions, so they had to get creative.

What does your heart tell you? Does it tell you we have a creator, or does it tell you that there is no creator. Only you can answer this question. Don't let others tell you what to believe. Blessed be.
