I have been so *greatly* upset over the news of Steve Irwin! I've had great difficulty functioning on a daily basis. He reminded me *so* much of a super close family member of mine, who also is gone.

The other night while sleeping, (I was alone in the house) I *heard* him whistle and call me by name! I am NOT making this up, and we have *never* met!! I woke up straight away and with a jump!! I am, and was raised Christian, and have been taught not to believe such things, but if you 'read between the lines' , The Bible has alot of 'mysteries' and there are 'some' things that mankind just can't wrap their brains around.

Could it be that he has been permitted to go around the world to 'comfort' people? How long will his presence be here? Of *course* he would have visited his family first!

Has anyone *ever* had a similiar experience with anyone?

PLEASE *only* thoughtful folks respond. If you have a snide remark, then please take it elsewhere!

the dead like the living remain on this earth, there is no heaven and there is hell, these two places will only 'come' into being at the last judgment

and yes the 'dead' can get permission to visit the living but it is a rare thing.

to jewel_flower jesus spoke of lazarus and the rich man and he himself went to preach to those who died in the flood (when they the dead know nothing) i am wiritng this yet i am dead in that i do not know you hence i know nothing. i cannot see you or talk to you in ecclesiastes that is what it was to be dead, am i dead ? no, if your friend dies, and you go out to a dinner ask your friend what you should wear, your friend cannot answer you because your friend does not even know your name. poppy cock your friend knows and remembers you just as you know and remember your friiend.

it was because you were so upset that he was given permission to contact you as he did, they can see far more of life and our lives than we can and he may have how upset you were and what may have happened to you had you remained so upset, when he asked for permission to contact you, a lot more went on than just getting a yes or no answer, there are consequences for every thing that occurs to us on this world and something have a greater consquence than others.

The Holy Bible provides the following about places after death:

1. In the Old Testament, Abraham, among others, commonly referred to a place after death called Sheol. It is always in the context of 'down', as in 'I will take the sorrow with me down to Sheol.' This is not pergutory, hell, hades, but most likely a reference simply to the burial site.
2. Revelation speaks of the rapture of believers in Christ before God pours His wrath on the unbelievers...the dead everywhere will be raised first, followed by the living...all will meet Jesus in the air.
3. Revelation 20 also speaks of the Judgement day where everyone from all time will be gathered in one place, standing before God. Books will be opened, including the Book of Life. Unbelievers are not written in the Book of Life, and will be judged under the Law...all will be found guilty and thrown into the lake of fire for eternity, called the second death. The faithful will exault with joy as Christ, their Lord, is finally revealed.

God has raised the dead...God has given new life to the dead to walk again on earth (for example, right after Christ's death)...God breaths life into all living things.

God also takes life, even in the womb. He has the authority, and does so reluctantly...ususally as a result of wickedness -- sin -- for example, the Flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, the end times, etc.

Anything beyond this you need to be careful...satan and his forces wear white robes and fool many, until you get close, and see the difference...then it's too late. Before you believe any of what you say...I would get on my knees and pray to Jesus to fill your heart, prtect you, and give you discernment.

Best wishes.

I do believe that sometimes dead people can give messages to their loved ones still here on earth. However, I don't think that's the situation in your case. Since Steve Irwin did not know you in life, he would have no reason to contact you in death. Perhaps instead, you were dreaming and you heard this in your dreams, or perhaps God sent you this message as you were sleeping to help comfort you.

No I have never had this happen but I would not discount anything unless I had positive proof.
It is nice to think that they could be here for a while to give comfort.
I also am really sadden by the death of Steve Irwin, and I hope that his family will be able to carry on his work in their lifetimes.
I think he should have a national holiday and not MLK. I think what he did with his life was far better than what MLK did by trying to bed every broad he came in contact with. That is not greatness by any name.
Just my personal opinion on the subject.

You had a dream! Atheists and Christians agree that dead people aren't around to contact you. Atheists say death is final. Christians often say the dead remain dead until Judgement Day. Either way, no dead person contacts you. Why would you be worthy of Steve's notice anyhow?

I believe that our spirit lives on after we pass on - perhaps we linger in this dimension for sometime - to comfort loved ones or to see something unfinished is completed or maybe we are re-incarnated to achieve something that we didn't get done before. But I do believe that eventually we pass on to another dimension or world - remember in the Bible it talks of God's house having many mansions - so maybe we have several lives.

Since you heard it while sleeping at night, it was more than likely a dream since you've been so upset about it recently. I am upset about it too. Steve was so cool. We just watched one of his videos a couple days before he died. I still can't believe he's gone.

Anyway, it was more than likely a dream. When you die, you are gone.

The Bible makes it clear that when you die, you know nothing. There is no hope, no memory, no praising God - nothing when you are dead. It says the dead are given life again when Jesus comes back and raises them to life.
