I ask this because I hear the "72 virgins" all the time. Yet no one has stated they must be "female". What if they are men? This could explain the anger that is coming out of the middle east.

It doesn't; the ironic part of the whole situation, lol! Islam never guarantees any ammount of virgins to anyone. Somehow wires got crossed and *poof* now we have virgins!

The Quran DOES mention a creature of light called Houris, but no gender is mentioned, nor is any sexual nature. It is assumed that they are servants, as even that is not defined.

It was penciled in by terrorists. Female martyrs must get pretty sore and do not walk around much...............and then if male terrorist are rewarded with 72 male virgins they would have some adjustments to make and they too would be pretty sore and not walk around much.
Does not sound like a good idea for anyone.
And what about the virgins and what did they do wrong to live up in heaven and service the smelly terrorists.

There is no specific number nor are they given a sex. They are just other beings that will be in heaven and the arabic word actually translates to neighbor. I interpret them as angels because they are referrerd to as pure. But terrorist have used the virgin interpretation to get more men to believe in their cause. It's actually funny because the Quran teaches the body is just a shell. Who knows what the actual form of our soul is. So for the men to believe they will even have a penis to have sex with the virgins is quite humurous.

Martyrs are welcomed to Allahs Paradise, their sins may be forgiven in the event that they are actual martyrs, no longer terrorist. there is not any such ingredient as to the virgins. it relatively is information, video clips and intensely ignorant human beings retaining this. Do your examine first till now you assume or have confidence something please. Mrs. Khan

There is no mention of 72 virgins in Qur'an.

52:20 They will recline (with ease) on Thrones (of dignity) arranged in ranks; and We shall join them to Companions, with beautiful big and lustrous eyes.

Who are the companions? Wife.

Nowhere does it say that in the Qur'an.

Don't believe everything you read, esp. on such casual communities as this.

Ignorance is more contagious than wisdom, it seems. Beware.
