It's hard to believe but they aren't going to make the original Hummer any longer. What will the US military use now?

Yes, GM is discontinuing the HUMMER.... but AM General is the actual builder of the military specification High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle. Its not just symantics... the two vehicles share some similarities, but they are markedly different.

As per the Program Executive Office and the United States Tank and Automotive Command... the HMMWV isn't going anywhere. It'll be here for many more years.

They'll buy any piece of garbage that "Rummy's" business associates present.
My grandson is in Kuwait, this is where the hundreds of Hummers that have been blown up are stored. There are literally acres of these substandard Humvees stacked like cars in a junkyard.
The vehicle isn't all it is cracked up to be.
20 years ago, when Bushdaddy decided to "give" one away to Arnold S. (California's latest idiot/actor governor). The Humvee was a pretty decent assault vehicle, but we all remember the stink ole Bushdaddy created when the press found out that is was a federal offense to "give away" Army property. I still haven't found out why he wasn't made accountable for his lack of respect for our nation's laws.

But when GM cheapened down the vehicle so everyone could own one, they used the basic Suburban frame and just put a Humvee "skin" on it.

These are Hummers.... not Humvees. Small name change big strength loss.

The original hummer you could buy and the hummer the military is using are very different. I doubt if the hummer the military uses has FM radio and AC.

Rest assured, the military will have the vehicles it needs. The military version was a special production anyway and not representative of the 'civilian' version other than in shell only. American companies contract with the defense department all the time to build to specifications they call for. It's a normal course of business in the US.

Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell, lionized because of the fact the 1st US woman to alter right into a physician (in 1849), wrote in her diary: The gross perversion and destruction of motherhood by the abortionist filled me with indignation, and awoke lively antagonism. That the honorable term "woman well-being care provider" would desire to be completely utilized to those women folk who carried in this surprising commerce looked as though it might me a horror. It became into an utter degradation of what might and could exchange right into a noble place for women folk. ------------ yet another professional existence feminist became into Victoria Woodhull, perfect favourite for being the 1st woman candidate.for US President (some time past in 1870). Radical even by early feminist standards, she and her sister, Tennnessee Claflin, declared that childrens had rights which began at theory. Their essay "The slaughter of the Innocents" first discusses the abominable dying fee of little ones under 5, then turns its attractions on abortion: "we are conscious that many women folk attempt to excuse themselves for identifying to purchase abortions, upon the floor that it is not homicide. however the reality of motel to so susceptible a controversy in basic terms shows the extra palpably that they completely comprehend the enormity of the crime. Is it no longer the two destroying the might-be destiny oak, to weigh down the sprout earlier it pushes its head above the sod, because it is to diminish down the sapling, or decrease down the tree? Is it no longer the two to harm existence, to weigh down it in its very germ, and to take it while the germ has developed to any given element in its line of progression? permit people who can see any distinction relating to the time while existence, as quickly as all started, is taken, console themselves that they do no longer look to be murderers having been abortionists."

The Tank-Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center is developing the Future Tactical Truck System to streamline deliveries to deployed troops. Future Tactical Truck System (FTTS) consists of two versions: FTTS-Maneuver Sustainment, and FTTS-Utility. Ever seen "Batman Returns", well it looks a whole lot like that. But it doesn't do what you saw on there. It is still in the exploitation phase, but that is what the marine corps is going to.
