It is not my choice to take a cruise, she thinks there will be hundreds of horny women looking for a good time and maybe even steal me away. We have been married for over 30 years, and I have not cheated yet. Does she have any legitimate concerns, are these Bermuda deals like that, full of wild women? I am not looking for a wild time, I have work to do on the cruise, I am the sales director and we have meetings to present. Can someone tell me the real deal, I don't know .

First find out if your company chartered the entire boat. Some large ones do. If they did, that solves both of your issues - no wild women nor can your wife come.

If they didn't charter the entire boat, speak to your travel arrangement person and see what the cost difference would be if you paid for her to come. If it can be done, and your wife is friendly with some of your coworkers' wives, see if they're willing to do the same and bring the wives at your own cost. If not, call a few of her girlfriends and have them suggest to her a girls' trip somewhere.

I wouldn't dream of taking a vacation...working or not...without my wife. I'd either pay for her passage, or not go.

This is one of the "little things" in a marriage that can change the course of the relationship.

I had the same problem years ago when I "won" a business/pleasure trip to Acapulco. In my case, I knew it was going to be a non-stop drunken orgy, and my boss insisted that "wives" were not invited.

I decided not to go...and paid for it dearly...I lasted at that job for less than a year. But I've been with my wife now 26+ years, and that mid-size company has since folded and 90% of the guys who stuck with their demands are divorced.

It's a tough call...but it's also a matter of priorities.

Cruises are full of ordinary people. Not to be too rude, but the wild women will likely not be interested in a guy your age, unless you are very hot (it's nice your wife thinks you are though!)

You will likely have to share a cabin with another guy anyway, but if not, try to take your wife along, with the understanding she cannot spend too much time with you as you are working.

You're going to work on a cruise??? Yeah, right. I think it is inappropriate for companies to finance such boondoggles under the guise of business. If your company is going to reward you with a cruise you should admit you are going for the fun of it, and they should include your wife. The management of your company stinks. The right thing to do is to stay home.

you should look into the possibility of paying your wife's way so that she may enjoy the cruise with you. I am sure you will not be working the ENTIRE time you are on the cruise.

If she's that insecure after thirty years of marriage, she has a problem. Go on your cruise, she'll get over it and if she doesn't that's her problem.

ITS A REWARD BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK? HMM....I MARRIED MY WIFE TO BE WITH HER. YOU HAVE TO DECIDE IF IT IS THE CRUISE YOU WANT OR YOUR WIFE. OF COURSE SHE WANTS TO GO, SHE IS HUMAN. IF THE TABLE WAS TURNED YOU WOULD FEEL HOW? HMMM....SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER YOUR WIFE'S FEELINGS.......

It's customary for many companies to not pay for spouses, but they should be okay with it if you were to pay her way. Why don't you pay for her to go too? That would be a very nice present to her.
