Hey. I'm the starting quarterback on my high school football team and my best friend is the starting center. I've been going out with this girl for 2 weeks and have decided that i don't want to go out with her any more, because i'm starting to like her best friend, who is also the cheerleading captian. My best friend, likes this cheerleader and is thinking about asking her out. I told him that I would find out if she liked him or not. So to find out I have to keep going out with my girlfriend, and stay with her for like an extra week to see if would work out between my best friend and the cheerleading captian which is a total pain in the neck. See if I go after the chearleading captian that would ruin the friendship between my girlfriend and her best friend. it would also ruin mine and my best friends friendship which in turn would really mess up the football team and our season. What should i do. Should i stick in it for my best friend or just try to get with the cheerleading captian

First you got to evaluate what you really want. Do you want the girl? Keep your friend? or Loose the football team and the season? Priorities...you have to sort them out. Your problem is really complicated. Of course, we cannot control the heart...if you try and stop your feelings for this girl it would just make it go stronger. I think you'll just put yourself in more trouble if you are going to sort of "check out" the cheerleader for your friend where your real intention is to get that girl for yourself. For me that's not good. It will just fire up your feelings for the cheerleader. What's so special about this girl over your current girlfriend? I am assuming that you dont know her that much and you are attracted to her physically.

Well this is a risk you have to take. Follow what your heart tells you and keep in mind what you prize most. If you are going to ask for my opinion...I'd rather stick it with my friends...coz as they say..it's difficult to find best friends and I would not sacrifice friendship over a person or a relationship that may not even last.

Man...you are in high shcool... you'll meet more girls and probably much better than this cheerleader girl.. are you sure she's worth it to loose your current girlfriend and bestfriend? She must be something..

Well good luck to you and your team!

Teenagers should not be allowed to date. NONE OF THIS MATTERS. You guys are only 16 to 17 years old, 18 if you've failed a grade along the way, and you are not going to care in 2 years about whether or not you help a buddy find out if a girl likes him.

Concentrate on issues that matter. Study, volunteer, work and save some money for college, be there for your younger siblings and your parents.

Don't waste your time playing these stupid games. If each of you aren't mature enough to have a conversation with whomever it is you think you either want to, or don't want to, be involved with, then you aren't mature enough to handle the complexities of this aspect of your social life.

Try to help your friend, but don't go for the head cheerleader. Break up with your girlfriend nicely since you don't like her, because it is mean to use someone. There are other girls out there that are better than risking hurting more than one relationship/friend.

Uh, if you don't like your girlfriend anymore, just breakup with her. Don't keep her around as a pretty accessory just in case you don't get with the cheerleading captain. You sound very selfish. Grow up a bit and realize other people are not only there for your satisfaction.

Girls will pass in and out of your life for many years to come. But a good best friend is irreplaceable. If you aren't happy with your current gf, find a new one, but not the one your buddy likes. Trust me man, no matter how amazing she is, you will regret the damage it does to your friendship. Take the high road.

man u make urself sound like ur full of it. what makes u think ur better than all of them? no 1 -if u dont like the girl ur with dont b with her cos thats a jackass thing to do. no 2 - forget about the captain, leave ur mate to it. He can hook up with her by himself thats if shes even interested. no 3 - instead of doing the whole cheerleading team find a new passion, like the debate club LOL

well as a GIRL i would say to first of all tell your girlfriend you dont want to go out with her anymore i mean its not like you signed up for life!! and it wouldnt be fair to be going out with her if you dont feel the same way she did so break up with her but just make sure you do it properly and be nice!

then secondly TELL YOUR FRIEND THE TRUTH theres no point in him being a friend if you cant be honest with eachother i know he probably wont be really happy but you gotta b honest

then you have to tell your now girlfriend (who will be your EX by this time) that you like her friend otherwise when you go after her then you ex will think its to annoy you or whatever and it will piss her off if shes the last to know so YOU tell her and even though she might not take it well at least you can then go out with her friend!!

so then go tell your ex girlfriends friend you like her and see what she says..........

remember SHE MIGHT NOT EVEN LIKE YOU (no offence or anything) but make sure you arent like positive she will LOVE you.....maybe she might not even lik you coz shes sticking with her friend?

i know all of this is probably the least thing you wanted to do but im telling you this is what girls want you to do and you should but in this situation you cant please everyone

anyways you seem like a really nice guy so good luck =)

I would choose my best friend.. i mean if you're already tired of your gf then wats it gonna matter when you go out with the cheerleading captain? you're prolly gonna get tired of her later on if you go for her.. and if you went for her that means you prolly lost your relationship with your best friend and that means in the end you wont have nething.. you lost the grl and your best friend!!
