I see no reason on this planet why parent would what guidance, the only thing I can think off is, the child has been let to rule what the family will do at the child's behest, and now they have made a rod for there own back, The child must be taught that YOU ARE THE PARENT AND THEY ARE THE CHILD not the other way round, I say this as a woman of 60 years,It works believe me, you don't have to hit the kid or scream at the child just be very firm and unbending, the child will catch on.

The best thing about Nanny 911 and supernanny is that it really makes me appreciate my son. Whenever he's being extra naughty, I think of any number of episodes and thank my lucky stars he's so well behaved. Some of those kids (and often a parent or two) are just rotten...I'm glad those families sought advice.

I like both supernanny and nanny 911. I have gotten alot of helpful tips from the show, things I would have never thought about doing.

I think the show is wonderful, thank you for telling me. It teaches parents that there are other ways to teach your children and be a guide rather than an all dominating dictator who rules with an Iron fist. I think it's true genius and philanthropy that inspires someone to make a show like that. True spiritual aesthetics.

Thanks for letting us know about the marathon. My 4 year old son and I watch it together. I point out the other children's bad behavior and tell him why it isn't acceptable. We have both learned a lot from Jo Jo!

I love that show! Thanks for the info. My son is now napping, so I'll think I might actually sit down and catch an episode...

Not too often. My usual response is "how do people let the kids control them like that?" and "Duh! that's common sense!". She does have good tips but in general its better to never have a brat than reform one.
