Our dachsund is always stealing candy or gum from my daughter and her friends. As much as I warn them, they still leave their purses laying around the floor and he scurries in them. Fortunately, they do remember not to have chocolate. Mostly, they carry gum around, they're teen-agers. How bad is it for our dog, all this gum chewing and swallowing?

you really need to be careful with your dachshund, they tend to get blocked intestines some time and gum is not a good thing for them to eat a lot of. Also it gives them gas and stomach cramps if they eat to much of it.
