By documents I mean MS Word doc or MS Excel. The docs require password for opening them.

In Word, click on Tools, Protect Document.
In Excel, click on Tools, Protection.

When you open your word document, look out for the menu bar (Where "File" and "Edit" are), and go to "Tools", and select "Options".
When your "Options" window is open, select the tab "Security".
Over at "Security", it's pretty much simple on how you can password protect your file already : )

download free software Folder Lock . It will not only lock ur documents but image, video etc.

try this... just right click on the icon of the document... go to properties... that might have an option of putting a password...
