the best way is to do it when you're absolutely sure you're ready for all that marriage means to the person you are dating..
being able to make a solid committment to her & articulating that is the best proposal.

my daughters husband prepared a picnic lunch and took her to a nice quiet place... they ate their lunch and then he sent her on a treasure hunt with little clues. The final directions were to a teddy bear with a ring hanging around it's neck on a ribbon. My son proposed to his wife by booking a tour on an old steam engine trip which included supper and a play. On the way back he popped the question. Don't just ask her " so you want to get married or what". The ring in a wine glass is a bad idea as is hiding it in any kind of food. If you have a florist that you really trust or someone who owns a small boutique there are many different ways of proposing. If she really loves something ( besides you *s* ) whatever it is...reading books, riding bicycles tie it in that way somehow and she will be totally surprised. Being totally surprised for a proposal is wonderful. It could be something as simple as a singing telegram but show forethought. This is the woman you want to spend your life with and women love romance.

i'm a girl. And that's how I wish it would be. A romantic dinner at a fancy restaurant, with candles, intimate atmosphere and soft music. U have to bring her flowers, roses, I advice u red and white roses. Get dressed in something special, not casual. Elegant. And advice her before to dress the same-u don't want any surprises like not fitting because of the clothes u 2 wear. After eating, at dessert u could plan with the serving person to place the ring in the cake, or ice-cream. Keep the eyes on her not to swallow the ring! Ha ha. Or u could place it on the little plate for the coffee cup. When she'll drink cofee she'll see the ring on the plate. Or....u could knee and ask her to be the one to stand beside u for the rest of time. I'm sure u'll make it. Good luck! ;)

My fiance proposed by re-enacting our first date without me knowing it. He asked to make brownies at 9:30 (we made brownies on our first date), and the ring was in the brownie mix. Not IN the brownie mix, but on the other side of the package.
Is it the most romantic to others? Nah. But to us it showed who we are, and I could have never asked for a better proposal.
So listen to your girlfriend and know your girlfriend. You know what she loves and hates. Use your personalities and history to make it unforgettable. It's not about making it the most romantic for a show or something. It's about making it classic for her. Know your audience--are you proposing for her or for the spectacle?
If she doesn't like public displays of affection, don't propose in front of a crowd.
If she does like being the center of attention, it's probably not a bad idea.

Timing is everything. Either asking them when they're feeling really down in the dumps and feel like they need something to cheer them up, or ask them when they're ecstatically happy and unlikely to refuse.

my boyfriend took me away to a resort and did it in the hot tub, it was very romantic...... go into the hottub, pour her some wine or whatever you like to drink and put the ring in the glass. I noticed it as i was drinking... then if your lucky , she say yes, and you can have sex in the hottub to celebrate....

you take her out for an evening date,then you tell her to close her eyes,you kneel down,bring out the ring and tell her to open her eyes.make sure there are other peole in the restaurant.you then put the ring in her finger.it would work.
