OMG you are more screwed up than a schizo locked up for killing babies. Yeah pay your way into heaven..... i hope you like living in poverty so your priests can live in sea-side mansions. Your stupid. You're paying for something that may not exist.

You don't 'have' to donate, it is a matter of you recognizing that what you have is thanks to God, so you give back some, whatever feels right, to whoever you think could use it best.
The Bible doesn't specify a % to donate, it says that each should give one feels to, but also says that we should help support our religious leaders in case they need it.
Before you throw away you Bible, talk to somebody who really lives by it and ask him the questions you want. Maybe there is somebody in the Catholic church but they usually live by many things and the Bible is only like a reference book.
Try with the Evangelicals or any non-catholic christian group, don't take a decision with out really hearing the other side of the story.
And you won't get to heaven even you donate all, that is something you could easily understand by reading the Bible.

Most priests take a vow of poverty. Their donations should be spent on bettering their church, not imposing their beliefs on others.
I'm atheist, but I'm not going to impose my religion by telling you not to believe, since it's your decision.
There is nothing in the bible that says you must pay for your ticket to heaven. As long as you don't have to pay to stay in the church, feel free to believe in what you want. However, if you oppose the viewpoints of Catholicism, you may want to switch to another church since they have different interpretations of God.

there are sections in the bible on tithing. but that means many things to many people.
if you feel strongly about the church's opposition to contraception maybe you can donate that 10% to planned parenthood or some other group that's more in line with your thinking.
as for questioning your faith that's something you need to find on your own. and getting into heaven is between you and your god.

1. being Catholic cannot get you into heaven.
2. The catholic churches position on condoms asside, if your not married you should not be sexually active,
3. your lack of "tithing" will not keep you out of heaven. your lack of a relationship will, and the bible is where that relationship is formed, where God's character is revealed. and your flushing it, don't know what that's all about, but certainly don't want to entertain it by going to your link either.
4. I will pray for you that you find what your looking for, for peace within yourself, and that relationship which you are lacking that has you where you are in your faith right now.

The only way to get to heaven - if indeed there even is such a place - is by buying your way in. That's what the collection plates are for at a church. Churches are all about money, money and more money, very little of which is used for so-called "good works."

If you just stop being a catholic (which is sounds like you're already doing considering you oppose their practices), then I don't see why you should have to pay them money. Also, you aren't going to get into Heaven whether you pay them money or not, because Heaven doesn't exist. I suggest you start looking at the evidence logically, after which you should realize that the most logical position is atheism.

Smart man, sounds like you are finally starting to think critically. As long as you have faith in yourself I think thats all that matters. I'm glad your not following like a sheep but are beginning to draw your own conclusions about the world and life. Acording to the Christian faith I'm not going to heaven and nor are my friends and family, but doesn't bother me on the slightest.

whenever one becomes unhappy with the Church one goes to then one has the freedom to leave and go elsewhere or not at all. there is no law requiring you to believe a certain way as this is called free will and freedom of choice.
in regards to giving money to whatever Church one attends again the same principle applies. no one can force you to give as all contributions are one's own decision.

Donating to the Church is a farce. They just want your money. Take my advice - save your money. Let the poor and sick people of this world live off the stuff you throw away. It's not like it's really garbage.

I don't go to church. I still donate whenever I can to good causes though, like the Salvation Army, canned food drives, food banks, stuff like that. I figure that means I'm doing my part.
