I have found out my dad has been looking at porn on the internet - i feel physcally sick. he deletes it from the history but he levaes the window up and click on the back button and can see he has been on it. its making me look at him in a completely different light - how dare he!

You've mentioned this to the wrong bunch of people. Like it or not, half the guys on the net look at porn at least 110% of the time :) That's what the internet is for, I'm afraid.

Anyway, that's nothing. You know what? He's done it too. Probably with your Mum. And probably in a variety of horrible positions.
Still, what a horrible thing to actually see for yourself. It really freaks you out doesn't it? And you never quite feel the same afterwards. It's a shock. I had the same thing when I once caught my parents doing it.

But here's the thing - It's all about you, not him. It's your problem, not his. Ask yourself, what has he actually done wrong? Or is it just the case that you've been hopelessly niaeve for it not to have occurred to you previously? This will be an important part of your growing up. Just make sure you react to it like a grown-up and not with the immature, child-like, solipsistic attitude of indignance you've displayed on here. Go buy your dad an ice-cream or something. One day, you'll be looking after *him*.

If it bothers you so much, don't snoop around, clicking the back buttons.
There is nothing wrong with most porn (as long as it is not child porn). Your father has the same sexual urges that most adults in the world do. If it weren't for those sexual desires, you wouldn't be born.
For some reason men tend to be more voyeuristic which is why they tend to like porn more then woman. That doesn't make it bad. It is just helping him to fulfill a simple fantasy. I'm sure you have fantasies. If you don't, you are either too young to be asking this question or too repressed.
Relax and don't look at him any differently. He is still the same man he always was.

Its a completely different situation when you are in the picture. Now imagine yourselves (thats if you can) coming onto ur computer when ur dad goes off and u click the back button...and u see erotic images of women...

I guess it depends on how old you are. If you are young, teenage years, I can see how it is hard on you. Talk to your mom or an older sibling and ask them to talk to your dad about being more private. If you are an adult, get over it. Unless he is looking to where it is affecting normal relationships with his wife or girlfriend it is no big deal. More people than would probably admit look at porn or watch porn.
Now if the porn is of true minors that is horrible and completely wrong and he needs help.

Your parents had a life before you, and I dare say a sexual life too.
Do you expect it to stop because you are now in age to understand the facts of life?

Surely his sexual life is his own personal problem isn't it? The best thing would be for him to have his own computer.

Hi i think you are over reacting he is a man and all men do it, sometime i can understand you being angry at him, but you shouldnt be. I found some tapes when i was young and i got angry, but i didnt tell my mum as she probably new as they were hidden in her room,in the only cupboard they had. But i felt this way until i got older and realised that men on most ocassions when they have free time and on there own look at porn. Just calm down a little ans wait till your older before you critisize your own dad.

Your dad had s serious problem!! Porn is just as addictive as alsohol or drugs. It ruins lives and families. Does your mom know about it? Maybe she need to know, if she doesn't already. Your dad needs to know how it is affecting you and your family.. If he loves and respects you and your family he will seek the help he needs.

And no that does not mean that you have to tell her. You don't know what goes on between them so but out.

So long as what he is looking at isn't illegal or harmful its up to him.
