Hello all...I am a teenager, but I would rather not say my real age. I am overweight, and I need to lose around 30 pounds, hopefully within say 6 to 8 weeks. I dont have any excersise machines other than an Ab-Lounge that was my mothers. I do have a bike though, and plenty of space to ride the bike and walk. My question for you all is, alongside a diet, what excersise plan do you guys and girls think I should use. I cant pay for diet programs or anything like that, so Jenny Craig is obviously out of the option list:lol: Thank you for your time.

You want to do exercises just like jogging or riding a bike. Those will help burn calories, raise your metabolism and increase leg muscle mass.

If you are into exercise, try and supplement that with some lifting weights, or if no weights are available, things like pull ups, push ups, etc. that build strength. Building strength means building muscle which burns calories, even when not exercising.

As far as the dieting goes, you've probably heard it all before. Eat a balanced low calorie diet. The only thing I'd recommend beyond that is try and avoid processed foods whenever possible, in favor of rawer foods. Eat whole wheat instead of white bread. Fruit instead of fruit juice. Potatoes instead of potato chips, etc. You get lots more bulk, fiber and nutrition that way.

Good luck.

Try this free website where you can track your calories eaten and burned through exercise and also get support from chat boards with other members called http://www.sparkpeople.com

It's an excellent resource, full of good tips, tools and advice and even shows demonstrations of proper exercise and strength training techniques and it really got me motivated after years of demotivation. I don't what it was about this site, but I've been exercising nearly everyday since I started it.

I've lost 10 lbs so far, been on it for 2.5 weeks!
