People of the west are loosing faith in God, Jesus and Christianity. This will cost us one day of our long cherished liberty. man does not live by bread alone. He can not live without philosophy and spirituality. Slowly we shall find ourselves turning to other religions which are anti-liberty and anti-freedom oriented.

Nice statement of ones opinion. I just wonder who is free and along with that exactly how you do define free. Who really knows about the Christ and the church? Is it not those who are a part of it and really are a slave to the Christ?

IN my opinion, this being free and all the freedom is just words that are too many time abused and over used. Are you free not to breath? Are you free not to eat or drink water? Absolutely you are but then you are under obligation to accept the consequences or results of using that freedom which is death.

Is not eveyone a slave to something? Likewise is not every one a slave to someone? Maybe you can choose who, you want to serve. but you will serve.

Please do not get me wrong, I do understand your sermon and your view. I see that you are asking others to do as you are doing and maybe become like you to prevent what you think will be the results. I see in my view you did express that very clearly.

Is it not stated somewhere if they are not against us they are for us. If they are not for us, just leave them alone. And if they do not gather with us they scatter.

I personally see that those words do kinda sum it all up in a nut shell. I would think your sermon would be best given to a group to which you do belong and it can be used as a "wake-up call", You see the use of the words "we" indicates a group to which you are a member.

Rightly so you are a member of Yahoo Q&A thus you can consider posting what you did. In fact you did do it. However I see by the answers there are a lot here who consider themselves not in the "we" group.

Do consider that and while doing it have a great day my friend. Do likewise ask more questions to be sure I have some to answer on my daily visits here.

The exact opposite is true. The extremists in the religious right would gladly trade in all of their freedoms for a Christian theocracy that forced Christian values on all of it's citizens. Which other religions are 'anti-liberty' and 'anti-freedom'? Buddhism? No. Hinduism? No. Paganism? Lol, no. Do you even understand how anti-liberty the Christian faith is? 'Conform or be Damned' is your motto. As a Middle Eastern faith, your religion is born of religious extremism and fanaticism. If any religion is the enemy of freedom, liberty, and personal choice, it is Christianity and Islam.

It's true that Christianity is slowly dying out. They say that by 2042 NOrth America will no longer be predominately Christian with the exception of Mexico.

The world was fine before Christianity though. You have to know that it is not the oldest religion. Paganism or Earth Worship is the oldest religion. It is also the fastest growing religion in the US and probably the least dogmatic with the exception of Atheism or Unitarianism.

Frankly, I never thought of Christianity as being a freedom oriented religion, please explain. Are you afrain of the upsurge of Muslims in this country and around the world? Muslims are nice people who live, for the most part, free lives. I can think of a few sects of Christianity that were much less free than Mainstream Islam. Can you please explain? I don't want to go off on a tangent if I am totally off base here. Thanks.

I think you are wrong. Christ, Church and Liberty and not the same thing. Christ said, give Caesar what is Caesar's. He gives us a free spirit, no matter what the state of the union is. If you don't want your Christian brethren to go off to other religions, try acting more Christ-like. Instead of preaching gloom and doom try preaching love for one another. Instead of passing the collection plate to fill your coffers, try emptying your bank accounts for the needy and less fortunate. Have more faith in your God that He will provide and will judge your enemies instead of worrying about the next check deposit and getting the enemy before it gets you. It is ppl like you that blindly follow our government who professes to Christianity without looking at what is really happening. It is this war monger administration that is taking our liberty away, not an attitude towards Christ.

Christianity is a majority religion in the US, there are 100 hundred recognized religions. If it's membership is slipping it's their fault, not the minority religions, Atheists or Agnostics.
Our liberty was not gained fighting for Jesus Christ, it was earned for the freedom to believe or not as we wish.
Who are you to say such a thing! The Christian Right was instrumental in bringing the born again (?) Bush and his cronies to power. They have in turn caused a great rift in our population, lied to, created a wrongful war, indebted us for trillions in borrowed money, killed tens of thousands , and are now working on ways to curtail or remove the very rights guaranteed all citizens in our Constitution and Bill Of Rights.

You may regard this as a Christian Nation, but look again , Lady, it says UNDER GOD, not JESUS. God is Allah, Shiva, Buddha, or whom ever one believes him to be. If one doesn't believe there is a God, or Goddess, That is their right, too.

If Christians are leaving their churches, they best look within.

All religion is anti-liberty and pro-hierarchical authoritarianism. You should take a closer look at your religion. Christianity poses as much of a threat to liberty as any other -- more, in fact, since it already has a lot of wealth and power.

LIBERTY: The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing.

Christianity is only one religion. As long as all religions are allowed to be pursued and none is forced upon us through government, our liberties are safe.

Christianity by the way does not promote liberty, but most religions dont either. Christianity threatens to burn you in hell for not following it and bullying is not encouraging of freedom of choice.

Yes. We will give ourselves over to the Antichrist who will establish a worldwide religion based upon a Christless Christianity. In end times prophesy this represented by the mark of the beast whereby no one will be permitted to by or sell without the mark of the beast (a bar code tattooed on the forehead) or in the palm of their hand (a computer chip inserted under the skin). These technologies exist today and can be easily implemented. In the future, the true church of Jesus Christ will have to go underground. Today, there are many mega churches already preaching a Christless Christianity, and they are sucking hundreds of thousands of unsuspecting people into hell.

If you do not believe in a god then what are you doing on a religion site? But enough with the nonsense people, to your question. The first part of your statement is correct, but it is the Protestant America united with Catholicism of Europe trying to get God back into every ones life that is the ones that will by law mandate that we worship on Sunday, and force the consciouses of the world into fallowing the Beast.

Liberty is found in personal striving for spirituality. That is not contained in any one religion or religious group. All faith is limited by our ideas.
