Belize is the greatest. The money exchange is 2 to 1 and they speak English there. I am going for 2 weeks in February. There is a little Island there called Caye Caulker that is the most laid place left on earth. Life is remote there but you have all the comforts of home. There are a few bars and restaurants and it sits right off the second largest barrier reef in the world and the snorkeling and diving is second to none in the world. Go when the lobsters are in season and don't go during their rainy season. the best time is from December to May.

If you want a shorter trip. Go to Niagara Falls, Canada. It is spectacular!! So much to see and do. Also close by is a town called Niagara on the lake. Very classy little town with so many antique stores, also the Butterfly Conservatory. The wine region of Ontario is close by. So you can go to the famous Inniskillan Winery and have a taste of our famous Ice Wine. That is where it is made. So I highly recommend, Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada
Cheers

Costa Rica. Very inexpensive and friendly. They have no army so the USA protects them. They love US tourists (and our money). Been there twice and felt comfortable, unlike when in Mexico I felt hated and always had to watch my back. The currency is the colon and current rate is 519 colons to $1 US dollar. That's awsome!! I like Jaco Beach in SW CR. You must fly into San Jose and I suggest you take a taxi there, but you can take a public bus for a few bucks. Good luck and be safe!

How about the Carribean? St. Thomas and St. John are both beautiful and you can't beat the jewelry prices!
