A person's religion has nothing to do with what they're like as a person. You're an atheist and clearly hate on religious people. That makes you something of a scumbag. But not all atheists are necessarily scumbags..

Athiests aren't taught anything. Athiesm isn't an organized collection of philosophies (mostly because you can create a huge organization of wildly different philosophies even if you believe in 0 deities). I mean, a nihlist can be athiest, and they don't believe people are born good (they don't believe there is such a thing as good. Only results)
But hey, what do I know: I'm agnostic?
It does beg the question though. If 5% of the US population is athiest, what percentage of criminals in US prison systems are Athiest? Do athiests seem to follow a specific course of crime that they're convicted in? Remember folks, it's all about proportions. If there's half as many athiests in prison as there are christians, that's WAY too many athiests.

whats to say about athiests? heres a christian doing whats supposed to be done. making christianity justified.it's all good . so am i . i'm an ignostic.but if there is a god ,i dont think she/he
would condemn me to hell for not believing all that i hear. if i am the product of a god ; cool.i dont nessarily think that a god would think i shall go to heaven for being naive.
put the good book down. clear your brainwashed (maybe) mind and think.would god want you misrepresenting him /her?why are the words in the bible true?who put the type into the book ,over and over.does the people or person adjust the writings and rules in the bible?why is the bible written ;then taken and put into different words.
>> i'm waiting for the bus and this sweet little lady comes up to me and wants to give me some literature. she starts talking going on and on about the ways of the world . then she breaks out the book and puts her index finger on a paragraph and starts trying to relate it to ?i could'nt help my self .i asked what does that out of wack bunch of letters have to do with anything. ever.how can you look at that. and twist it into a shape that would mean anything. as far as i was concerned ; there i was on the street standing where allot of folks have been killed ,beaten, robberys. i grew my first set of eyes in the back of my head not far away from there . and i was attempting to get scammed there.c'mon! the transients have a smoother gig!

Why ws this question directly only to Christians? Besides, it doesn't really matter if you are spiritual or corporeal when it comes to values. Many Christians abandon their beliefs when it serves their immediate interests. And everyone has heard the quote that their are no atheists in a foxhole...what is troubling is that some people, either believers or non believers, are so arrogant that they actually think their position on religion makes them better than the next person. I think that is a dangerous proposition, regardless if you belief in God or not.

I think you're overplaying your hand with this question.
Atheists are not monolithic, and there is no atheist curriculum in which we are taught that we're born good or taught to treat people right.
There is no absolute description of Christians, but there is even less an absolute description of Atheists

Explain to me, if people are born good, what happened here:
A preacher friend of my mom's went to go stay with a family. The wife, we'll call her Sarah, said the same thing you're saying...that humans can do whatever they want, we're born good, evil is TAUGHT not inherited, et cetera et cetera.
One day, Sarah's two-year-old daughter was caught stealing cookies. Sarah scolded the little girl, and the little girl said she wasn't stealing, her big brother Bobby was.
The preacher, with a small smile, told Sarah he was going to have to leave. Sarah wanted to know why, and here's what the preacher said:
"You taught your daughter to lie and steal. I cannot stay in a house of liars and thieves."
Still think we're born good? Please. We most certainly are not. Babies are not born knowing right from wrong. They have to be TAUGHT that it's wrong to lie, steal, and hurt other people.
As for your other points, one saying covers them all:
Christians aren't perfect. Just forgiven.
What are you afraid of?

You really need to get a life. You dont judge people by their race, religion or lack of, or anything else. You judge each person as an individual. You are incompetent and should seek help for asking such questions. You have no right to judge others.

Have "better values and a higher standard of behavior" has nothing what-so-ever to do with weather you are an Atheist or a Christian. It has to do with your character.

Technically, I've seen bad people from both worlds and good ones from both. Essentially, there is no standard code of conduct by which they have to abide by. Therefore, my answer is NEITHER.

Actually, if you believe that this is your only life, wouldn;t you live it up? Like sex, drugs and rock n roll? Why not do what you wanna do because " it;s your ONLY life" I don;t want to waste my only life...PLEASE ATHEIST DO NOT HAVE BETTER VALUES JUST BECAUSE THEY BELIEVE THEIR IS NO GOD. IT JUST MAKES THEM...WELL, ATHEIST.
