I don't believe that we are getting the whole picture. Did you see the doctor to begin with because of headaches, dizziness, blurry eyesight, migraines, or limb numbness? If he suggested that you get the MRI because of something like this, then he/she is doing it to make sure there is nothing wrong. I would consider this more of a precautionary move than anything. I believe the doctor is suppose to tell you if they have found anything, but you can't really find anything without having the MRI done first. The problems the MRI finds are usually not detectable otherwise.

Don't worry about it to much, it is just for precautionary reasons..
to see if anything serious is wrong so they can stop it before it happens..
Did you have any kind of syptoms such as Blurred vision,Dizziness, Seziures..bad Headaches/Migranes that keep reacurring..
I have had my share of MRI's,Cat Scans...Mine was cuz I started Having seziures at 16 and it turned out I had a couple of brain tumors, wich I had to get Biopsys next turned out they were non cancerous but so deep onto the brain that they are irremovable, but by getting them found and getting put on meds the seziures eventually stopped. it's still there and I still am on meds for life but the meds got it under control..
so there has to be a reason and it is in your best intrest that you have the MRI..
Good Luck let us know how it goes..
and sorry about you and your boyfriend..if you and him didn't have a messy breakup and are just friends still he may be able to help you a little more.

I think your ex would answer your questions for you even though you broke up. Its hard to say what the dr wants to do the MRI for. He might just want to rule out anything being wrong? Basically,,,, it will depend on what is found, thats when you will know if its serious or nothing. Not much help, huh? There is a chance that nothing is wrong!!! Good luck

If the Doctor did not inform you why he is perfoming the MRI, then I would question the procedure. We here who answer you, do not know your situation. We are only given brief information about your doctor having you go through an MRI.
But again, since only so much info was given...I would say talk with your doctor and ask him why he is wanting this procedure done for you.

You did not say why you went to the Dr or what your symptoms
are. Therefore no one, even a Physician could give you an answer with no information. I had an MRI for sinus, and also for
arthritis. Just call your Physicians office and tell them you want
to know why they wanted this done.

They just want to check something out, it could mean either way. Normally they do it to rule something out.
