Answer: "I AM SO SICK OF ALL YOU ATHEISTS QUESTIONING CHRISTIANS. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO BELIVE IN CHRIST THEN KEEP IT TO YOURSELF. IF YOU ARE SO CONVINCED THAT THERE IS NO GOD THAN WHY DO YOU CARE IF WE CHOOSE TO BELIVE.I KNOW THAT CHRIST IS REAL. HIS LOVE AND MY FAITH HAS CARRIED ME THROUGH MANY HARD TIMES. GOD LOVES YOU ,EVEN IF YOU ARE TO STUPID TO REALIZE THAT."

@ auntb93: I'm half in agreement with you -- certainly I'm responsible for my own behavior, but not for anyone else's. The person I quoted was rude, but all I did was quote her. As for my own question, it's not against guidelines to demand an explanation. I insulted nobody, I expressed an opinion and that is not rude no matter how strongly others disagree with it.

Yeah, I hear this all the time. Their opinion is the only one that counts.

Why is it necessary to hammer the ideas of your faith. If people follow your ideas, then good. But if not, then leave them alone, it is their choice. You must understand that most people go through a period of doubt about faith and most return to some organized religion but you also have to understand that many people here are baiting you and are taunting you with audacious statements only to get a rise out of you. Our beliefs should be personal and not addressed to others. You can not convert people to an idea without brainwashing them. I am not a Christian but I respect your faith. I am Buddhist and I suspect that you are repulsed by that. I will not try to convert you but I say this only so that you know that I am not constrained in my sympathy for your abuse by thoughtless people. I think many young people are more agnostic than atheists...they are lost in immaturity and doubt but have to assert their characters in a very aggressive manner. Don't be offended but I do suggest being more cautious in questions that open the door to sarcastic remarks.

The person chooses to ignore that everyone has a right to express an opinion. If you don't like one, politely disagree and make your point and move on. If you can't, ignore it and don't bother answering. There really is no call for being that impolite and rude.

Don't be angry with them, they are the dead. you should pity them. With out them , many would not ever come into an understanding of the Christ. Look at the opposition Jesus faced from Atheist , The sons of Abraham and those with false Gospels. With out this contrast we can't recognize the light without the darkness. They have a role to play. Without them , You and I would not be having this discourse that will build or faith and strengthen us.

There are those that are blessed from the womb and those that are cursed. Pity those who will taste of hells fire.

In Jesus name I ask for the Love of The Christ to fill your spirit.

Amen

Look, there's been lots of bad manners on both sides of this debate. I would say, for example, that your copying all that shouting (all caps is shouting on the Web) is not all that better manners than shouting yourself. If you want to discuss the meta-issue of why we can't seem to get a civilized dialog going here without the extremists calling everyone names, then that is a serious question. Let's go for it.

Technically, you are in violation of community guidelines because your "question" is a statement, not a question. And you really are just stating your opinion, not really framing a question.

Religion is so overrated. You can believe the word of men, or you can believe yourself. Don't be concerned by these so-called Christians. The answerer there says that he/she is sick of of Atheists question Christ. Well what about Christians who constantly question Atheists, and when they refuse to believe with a simple 'no thanks, it's not for me', they are condemned to hell, called immoral, and cursed. Is this what true Christians do? Is that what the religion of Christianity is all about?
No wonder I'm unimpressed by it. So many of it's followers are hypocrites. They damn you by the word of their bible, but rarely follow a sentence of it themselves.
How odd.

Actually it depends upon the individual. That answer to me is offensive. If someone wants to be an Atheist, fine with me; it's their choice. I don't try to change them. I don't want to. I don't call them names or question their intelligence. In turn I expect to receive the same amount of respect I give. However, I frequently see both sides being quite rude about it. To me there is no point in that. And that being said, I have to get off so I can head out to church.

A belief in an afterlife is very popular in many quarters. (If you don't believe...what is the end?) A belief in an afterlife can consider the continuity of some part of the human existence (body? mind? spirit?) and our loved ones' spirit being more alive than in this earth life. There is nothing lunatic in the belief in the continuity of soul. Many wise minds are checking out this premise.

I think all of us should respect each other. Everyone has the right to support their belief in polite manner. Neither of the above postings are very polite.
