I would strongly advise not to. Most foods do not refreeze well and there are several foods that can be dangerous if refrozen, because of the onset of bacteria. If the foods were maintained at least to a temperature as your refrigerator would have kept them, about 35 to 45 degrees, you can cook the foods and them refreeze them. If in doubt, throw it out. Sorry about your food but you don't want to get you or your family sick.

If the meats were soft, I recommend NOT refreezing. If you are able to cook what has thawed, I would do that. You are asking for food poisoning if you refreeze thawed foods. Bacteria may have started.
I was told this after several hurricanes over the years not to refreeze. High risk of getting sick.

it depends on what it is - and how defrosted defrosted is.
Meat - NO on any counts.
Breads / Cakes / Waffles etc - probably okay.
Vegetables, if still really cold - probably okay.
Frozen entrees, if still really cold - probably okay.
Frozen fruit - if the fruit is still frozen enough it has kept its shape - its okay, if its all mushy - I wouldnt refreeze it, but you can probably eat it now.
Good Luck, thats a bummer.
Also - if you have renters or homeowners insurance - loss of food is actually covered. Call your insurance agent.

You really shouldn't.
The better idea is to go on a cooking spree and then refreeze the completed meals.

No. Absolutely not. Trust me, I've been through food safety classes. The only thing I would try to salvage is if you have shredded bagged cheese. I've also been through too many freezer downtimes over the years and know how sad it is to toss food.

If food is still frozen, you can cook it. But if food is soft, especially meat, bin it. Or would you like to be extremely ill?

No, you could very likely get food poisoning, as well as anybody you serve that food to, so NO.
