Paronoia, and hysteria prevent us from a free society. They are natural animal instincts that no matter how civilized we become, too many still succumb to them.
In a civilized world, we would converse with our enemies, and find out why all the hatred, and what we can do to stop it. Some people will continue to be evil, and we may lose precious lives, but it's for a much greater cause.(Kind-of like the MLK Jr. rallies in the 60s) Over time, the majority will see who is being impractical, and who holds a better standard.
Yes, we are succumbing to terrorists, and yes, breeding more hate.
To you other posters: I believe he was using a form of exaggeration in his Q. I think the point he's trying to get across is:
it seems like all of us are against the free world

Hi Tube Dude (what a name!), all 'isms' are counter productive to preserving human freedom, once they are imposed on people indiscriminately!
There are only two religions in the world which encourage conversion of non-believes into their faith - Christianity and Islam. Other religions are more practical and flexible when it comes to influencing the day to day life of the people.
It is utterly unwise to even persuade, let alone force, people to be part of a given religion on the basis that only that religion can save them - but save them from what? It is a totally misleading path followed by certain religions such as Christianity and Islam!
For the world to be a better and safer place to live in, we ought to keep all religious affairs and activities within the four walls of one's shelter! And, no governments under any circumstances should be influenced by religions!

You created a dichotomy by splitting people into 2 groups (religious and non-religious) therefore your argument reads (whe looked at from a logic standpoint) Are all people supporting those.... since you are able to form sentances and type, I assume you are a person. If you are not trying to destroy free society then the answer to your question is no. If your answer is yes, then you must do further research and certainly you will find 1 person in the world who is not trying to destroy free society. (I'll help yu out- I'm not) Therefore all people are not trying to destroy free society.
Also, please get your facts straight about buddhists.

Heya, TD (cool "handle" ;-)
George Washington said that our freedom might be destroyed from within, never from without. We now have a Loud Minority trying to do just that -- they will not (or cannot) listen to reason because they sincerely believe that Jesus ordered them to be militant -- "Go ye into all the world and....." Hard to battle fanatics whether they come from Baghdad or Denver.

I have never met a buddhist fanatic. I have problems with the Christian fundamentalists.

religion has been the start of so many wars. Its so odd, that religions promote harmony within, but seem to want to destroy all other viewpoints (of course not every religion does this). If we could all learn to just except the differences within our world, it would take care of a big chunk of the hate and violence.

Actually, I believe the world constantly rotates around "Conservatism (or Fundamentalism)" and "Liberal" poles. It's pretty simple really, once either side messes up, the majority opinion will shift to the other side. And once the other side messes up, vice versa.

You might want to rethink your question.
By including the religious and the non-religious in your statement, you are saying, "Is everyone supporting those who seek to destroy free society? If everyone is supporting, who is left? Your question does not make sense.
Rephrase and come back.
Thank you.
