I do eat seafood but not meat so I'd say Salmon with a mesquite seasoning and make sure to use a basket holder so the fish doesn't fall into the fire . Always add your marinade or your season just before you get it all the way done so the marinade doesn't burn. I like to stick whole cloves of fresh garlic in the salmon before I grill it and it gives it great flavor. But then I love garlic. Good luck on whatever you choose.I'm a vegetarian . I also would like to say try to find wild sockeye or wild caught Alaskan salmon and this tree hugger tries to do as much organic as I can :)

King crab legs, pork loin, ribs are a few of my favorites. Corn on the cob - just open it without removing the leaves, remove the threads and close it back up. Soak the whole thing in water with salt and sugar to taste (optional) and cook on the grill for about10 minutes (depending on how hot the grill is). Salmon and Tuna steaks are great and hearty enough to stand up on the grill. In a grill basket or just skewer some fresh, unpeeled (but deveined) shrimp that was marinated in Italian or Caesar dressing...turns out great...and cooks in three minutes!

Good luck! Grilling is fun!

I don't think this qualifies as unique but you can grill corn still inside the stalk which not only keeps the moister and heat in but does not environmentally waste foil.

Personally I am vegan so I am aware of alternatives that might seem unique to some. Try grilling portabello mushrooms. You can buy them big enough to grill without problems plus they have a meaty quality without all the excess fats and possible carcinogenic effects. You could marinated them in vinger olive oil and various spices before hand to make them extra yummy (-:

Best of intentions on your up and coming dinner party.

Grilled Shrimp with Angel hair pasta with Creamy Garlic Sauce

Large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
(16 oz.) angel hair pasta
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 large cloves garlic, minced
2 tablespoons
all-purpose flour
3/4 cup ready-to-serve chicken stock (or broth)
3/4 cup milk or light cream
2 teaspoons dried parsley flakes
Salt and ground
black pepper to taste
1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:
Season Shrimp with Olive oil, salt and pepper
place shrimp on skewers and grill on both sides until pink and shrimp have nice grill marks.

Cook pasta according to package directions; drain. Meanwhile, in small saucepan, melt butter; add garlic. Cook over medium heat 1 minute. Add flour; cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Stir in broth and milk. Cook, stirring frequently, until sauce boils and thickens. Add parsley, salt, pepper and cheese; stir until cheese is melted. Top pasta with Shrimp skewers . Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley. You can also add extra cheese too...really good.

This recipes is great and different from just plain old chicken, steaks or burgers. Really nice to have at a dinner party.
I've made this many times and it's always a big hit. I like to serve this with fresh steamed brocolli and garlic bread. Goes really well with a good quality white wine.

If you grill has a extra burner on the side, you can make the sauce while you are cooking the shrimp.

Hope you like it. ENJOY!

Shrimp / veggy / sea scallop kibobs on the grill always rule! Brush them with lemon and herb butter or just plain BBQ sauce! I don't know how hot of a grill you operate, but don't over cook....about 10-12 minutes will do or they get rubbery. If you use onion, red and green bell peppers as the veggies it adds a lovely color.

Try grilling some tofu: put teriyaki sauce on it. Also try grilling veggies like heirloom tomatoes, mushrooms, yellow/orange bell peppers and egg plant (sprinkle them with olive oil and sea salt first). Make sure the veggies are organic or else they won't taste as good.

get a whole salmon, stuff the salmon with onions, potatos, carrots, and garlic, wrap in foil, put on grill until done. You may also serve grilled corn on the cob as a side dish. serve with white wine, and a cheese and ham plate.

Have everyone write something outrageous they've done on a piece of paper with out name, then fold them and out them in a fish bowl. Each per draws one out after being mixed and read the outrageous deed aloud and tries to guess who did it. It's great fun and can be as riska as you want to make it. Its loots of fun.
