The people of France and many other Northern and Eastern
European countries were polythesist in my Opinion Nordic, Celtic Pagan etc. The VERY HOLY ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH sent out Christian Armies and Conqured these areas, and the Kings were forced to convert to Christianity.
No matter the people Did not Convert for atleast about a decade, after which the Church asked the Kings to raise the Agricultural taxes and the Church lands would be Exempted from Taxes
In those Days the Societies were mainly agricultural they could not handle this economic exploitation and Thought that Jesus was not such a bad guy and surrendered before the Church and Converted

If you do a Historical study than 75% of the Countries where Christianity is prevalent have been defeated By christian armies and their population have been Economically Or Militarily Coerced into Christianity is not it a Miracle that 2 billion People are Christians.
Do you want to Know how they Converted Spain?
So what do you think ?

You said it right, it was CATHOLISM that conqured. NOT Christianity.

You cannot judge the teachings and truth of a religion by the conduct of people who do not live up to them. Some people try to discredit Christianity by pointing out the misdeeds done by Christians who were not following Christ's teaching or by people were weren't real Christians at all. The standard by which to judge Christianity is the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Christianity has had a tremendously positive impact on the world. Many men who pioneered modern science were Christians.
Christian revivals in the mid-1800s sparked a powerful impulse for social reform affecting slavery, the status of women and the poor. And as a result, many missionary and philanthropic organizations like the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and the YMCA began

RELIGIOUSITY has caused more wars, suffering, murder, and creation of martyrs than any other factor on earth. No TRUE Christian has ever persecuted anyone or caused deliberate harm to any other person. Except as has been required from time to time in wars fought on the side of right against evil.

Umm..what is the point of this? Are you saying every Christian believes this was ok? Have you ever been physically assaulted by a Christian on the street as he was forcing you to believe in Christianity? It's called HISTORY! It's sad. But it happened.

The dark ages you are writing about was a sad period of history.

But remember--------they profess christianity.
They were not true followers of Christ.
They were not true believers in his Law.

And they are not now true Christians.
