Lots and lots of treats. Have ur dog sit (put him in position) move an arm length back (one hand to point at him, one hand to hold treat) AND at the same time use a firm tone telling him to sit (use name and then command) make sure ur dog can see the treat. When dog sits for longer than 10 seconds, reward with treat and start over. Always use name and then command, that way they can't pretend they don't know ur talking to them...Good luck....have fun...i've got 3 if you want any!!! LOL!

Consistency with the rules.
Take time daily in short spurts to reinforce the behavior.
Praise often.
Be gentle with punishment. (use lowered voice/a look, not a paper or spanking) They will learn you, too.
Come:
Have a person be with the dog. go to another area in sight. Use the word you will always use to make him come. Reward with food sporadically, praise with tone of voice and petting him every time. Over a short time, he'll know what the word means and won't require food to listen to you.
Sit:
Say the word you'll use while holding their attention. Have a treat in hand. Hold the treat just higher and in front of their head. Move the treat toward them. They will sit to keep the treat in sight. Then you reward it and give it to them. Again use food sparingly.
Not to bark when someone comes to the door:
Rehearse having someone come to the door. Just before they knock, call your dog to you. Praise as they knock to keep their attention. then answer door, allowing your dog to see you interact and accept the visitor. Continue this having the knock occur closer and closer until it is before you call the dog. Then dog will learn to come to you when they knock.

First, your puppy must recognize his name and be responding to it every time you call it out. You can then start to train him to come to you whenever you call him. Use the verbal commands come and here when you are calling him.
Then you can start introducing some other techniques such as the sit command. You should start with the simple commands first and gradually advance to more complicated commands.

well, take classes once a week. to make it come go around 4 feet away (start close then get further) and call the puppy while holding his toy. he will realize that everytime you say come he has to go see you and he will get a toy or a treat or wtv. as he gets older you wont need toys or treats.
