Yes Nicole, it hurts. But the fact is, the solution is still the same right??

I was training for a marathon one time, and I am positive I had a stress fracture in one of the bones of the lower leg. I would start running and limp to a stop. I could have gone to the doctor and gotten an MRI or bone scan, and have him tell me there was a fracture. BUT THE CURE WAS OBVIOUS. So I didn't run for a month, and it was healed.

Now if you have severe pain or complications, you need to go to the doctor or trainer. But if you have a sore quad - well, rest it.

If you pulled your quad muscle you probably knew it the moment it happened. Either running without proper streaching or lifting more weight with it than you can handle. If it is sore going up stairs or it feels tight or ball like on the middle to outside of your leg just below your thigh then you probably pulled it. Get some ice on it for 5 min. on and 10 min off (with a thin cloth between you and the ice so you dont freeze the skin). Do it while watching tv or using yahoo answers and also take some arnica pills and put some arnica cream on it and you'll be back to good in two days or sooner. I can usually get rid of a pulled quad by the next day.
