Ohh it certainly does something to their brains! LOL. My 12 year old cousin came from another state and stayed at my house for a month... all he did 24/7 was watch Cartoon Network (you had to yell at him to give you the remote and even then he didn't listen.... he's definitly NOT staying here again) but he is the most CHILDISH 12 year old boy I have EVER seen. I was SOOOO happy when he left! My mother and I were sitting outside while he was watching Cartoon Network and we were talking to our neighbor... this kid had to come out of the house and stand there... interrupt our conversation by going "hey hey hey hey hey..... guess what guess what? Who can guess how long my tongue is?" Oh.... my... god... he acted like a six year old! And everytime I went to my bedroom and shut the door and locked it, he would come banging on my door screaming and yelling about how he was going to kick my door down if I didn't go out there and watch tv with him.... I was like... "umm... your a guest in my house. you do NOT act that way."

My 12 year old son watches some shows, but I agree, I do ban REALLY mentally retarded shows like Ed, Edd and Eddy and also all of the animae shows. I don't think a lot of the humor is forward and progessivly thinking. He understands why I ban him, and he is definately not stupid. However, he's still loud and obnoxious- it's a boy thing. They really never grow out of that.

I love Adult Swim! I'm 40...course I'm kind of obnoxious too, but i think I'm pretty intelligent! I take care of mentally handicapped kids...and let me just add, that kids ARE goofy and noisy, and some are mean, and some act stupid...we are all differant kinds of people...and it has nothing to do with the things we watch on T.V. or the kind of music we listen to. It's our parents...and the values they taught us...we can watch violence on T.V. and know it's not real, and know it's not right, because Mom held us and loved us, and Dad was there for us...and didn't divorce Mom three months after we were born!

Everyone of us is the product of the influences around us. When you voluntarily watch obnoxious, loud, disrespectful TV, in some part that will eventually be reflected in your personality.
If these same boys were to re-focus on reading, their behavior would change accordingly.
It is up to parents to see these behaviors, and to steer children to activities which will maximize their potential and result in socially acceptable behaviors.

...I think that the programming is really geared for adults, not children...Just keep doing whatever you are doing to stay mentally healthy. Remember, your brain needs good food as well. If you watch junky TV shows, you will have junky thoughts. If you see intelligent things that make you think, you will have a better understanding of the world around you. Cheers!!

even if or not they prefer to be approached, or left on my own is often the version between approachable and in no way approachable. everybody may be approached in a hypothetical concern, no longer all circumstances are hypothetical in spite of the reality that. maximum persons %. up on even as someone ought to be left on my own, or perhaps as they experience like coming near people, they frequently enable people know with the help of coming near people.

Ha ha, yeah I think the shows are crazy. Like "Ed, Edd, and Eddy". I don't think it necessarily makes them stupid or bad though...they probably just watch it because they are immature and it has all the stupid things that they like.

Yes, if they watch it for hours on end they will behave like you describe. If they only watched if for an hour or less, there would not be this problem
