Potentially. But it depends on how low your iron is, how long it's been low and just the way your body's affected by it.
If you have extremely low iron, the pills may not be enough, you might need iron shots, to get a higher dose in.
And if you've been anemic your entire life and just found out, you might notice a huge change once your levels are normal. Whereas if it was a slow gradual process (the anemia), the change might not be as noticable.
Either way, whether you 'feel' better or not, your body needs the iron, so keep taking it.

It should stop you feeling as tired and drained.
The Iron tablets improve the amount of red blood cells and therefore oxygen in your blood stream. A Lack of this can create apathy and a lack of energy.
The tablets, however slow your metabolism slightly and you'll put on a little wieght (not so much that you notice).
But you should gain more energy and be able to work of the extra weight going on without too much effort (as you'll now have the energy to do so.)

Yes it makes a massive difference, however, you should see your GP and figure out *why* you're anaemic. He may refer you to a dietician just to make sure you're getting enough iron in your food - keep a food diary to take along with you. Eat lots of green veg, especially stuff like broccolli which is full of iron. And whilst you can, get out in the sun to enhance vit D levels - you only need about 10 minutes per day. If you're a drinker - have a pint of Guinness a day (my doctor actually reccommended that).

It can after a few days yes. If you were feeling dizzy and weak or just tired all the time before you started on the iron tablets, and after taking them you felt normal again, not tired, dizzy or weak, then yes that would be a huge difference wouldn't it?

Be careful with iron tablets, they can cause the runs or constapation. Go to a herbalist and get their tablets, they are not as strong and you can assimilate them better. In a worse case scenario of extreme anemia it is necessary to have injections which leave brusing and pain..

if u make sure that u remeber to take them,...then yes u should feel better- dont rely on them totally though- make sure ur doctor knows what your iron levels are- because if they are bad, but not too bad, then the iron pills should be fine. however if ur rly rly highly anemic, your doctor can do other things to make sure your iron levels get higher because it is very dangerous if they get to a certain low point. Please make sure u take your pills and keep up to date with getting your blood checked to make sure the levels are getting higher
good luck- any ques, ask

I do not know if this is true, but I have seen on the news that too much iron in your blood can be toxic. Your doctor obviously knows about your anemia (due to the diagnosis) so please consult with him. Even over the counter (OTC) drugs / herbs can hurt you so please do not take any chances.. Hope this helps.
