Home Depot & Lowes - the plain white 4 x 4 inch tiles sell for about $0.12 each - of the 2 stores, I find Lowes to have the better quality tile - which is unusual, as I normally prefer Home Depot for most items.

Lowes also had a better variety of colors & trim tile available - I just purchased everything I needed for a bathroom wall and it cost about $100 - which included their higher end tiles and trim.

Most hardware stores, but you really don't want to use cheap. If you can't afford good tiles, wait until you can. You don't want to put all that work into putting in tiles that don't stand up to wear and tear, and that you probably won't like after you install them.

Ebay....I bought handmade Tallivera tile for less than you can buy factory tile at Lowes and Home Depot. Only 1 tile was broken when I received it. Didn't matter cause I smashed them up to make a mosaic backsplash for my kitchen.

i would check with a carpet or tile outlet..u might find a color/style that is discontinued.....they will be about 1/2 price...

also check with local carpet stores.....lots of times when they do a job for a whole house they will have over stock....u will be helping them by taking it off their hands.......

I would get mine from a charity shop here (France) which sells items that builders have left over. You may have a similar place.
