Yes, i agree with you.
Also we need to meditate on the Word of God.
Psalm 1 says when we meditate on the Word of God, we shall be like a tree planted by the rives of water, which brings forth fruit in its season, its leaf also shall not whither, but whatever he does, shall prosper

I have read the Bible, though I almost fell asleep when I got to all those "begats" in the Old Test. I have also studied the Bible, but it was the study of the History of it and the Culture of the people who wrote it, in order to get a better sense of where the sayings are coming from. Many people take something from the Bible and apply a modern meaning to it... and most of the time, it's not even close to the meaning that was being given in the Bible.

What I understand about the "bible". It was created through the catholic church at the time. The" pope" basically ruled the church and the world that exsisted at the time. Man created the "bible". What was allowed to go in. What they chose shouldn't haven't been left out. It wasn't a matter of spirituality or truth, it was money and power. They came up with this plan reguarding sin. If man sinned, he must come to them, donate money or what ever was related as money at the time. Then they would then, be granted grace, by the church that takes the money. I think the old testaments are closer to what God has completed and not so much written by a man with wants of money.
The new testament I beleive when read first pray and meditate and ask Mother/Father God to help you to see what is truth and what is not, to understand for yourself the best of the writings. It's to bad that so many books of the bible are still hidden in the underground of the Vatican, so no soul can see the truth that was given to man by God.
Just remember when greedy men, are in control-decides what goes in and what is hidden takes much prayer to understand the truth. Even back in the days of Christ, money was the strongest thing...Judas even got a little for his job!

The bible is many things to me. The history of what has happened, The only place I can Find the word of God. I study this word for many reasons. I have been reading the Bible for 27 years and even this morning Things were revealed to me. It is a love story that I embrace with my whole being. With sleepy eyes and nodding head, I force myself to stop because I was to exhausted to rightly divide the word of truth.

I got what I had prayed for . The desire to understand and hide this word in my heart. Don't be too hard on my brothers who still drink the milk or Choke on the meet. They need prayer for them and from them.

At times I read the Bible which is God's Holy Word. And, as I am reading the Lord speaks to me and then it turns more into study. At other times while I am studying His Word then God speaks to me and my study becomes more in debth and sometimes I may end up studying something other than what I had began studying in the beginning of my study at that setting.
Thank you for your word of exhortation 11 Timothy 2: 15

My husband and I study it. We have a Strong's Dictionary, a Young's Dictionary, a MKJV with study notes, an Amplified Bible. On our computer we use e-sword and have at least 6 different types of Bibles for reference. We like to know and understand what the original message was, not how it can be interpreted today. Unfortunately, this has led us to some conclusions about what many believe to be fundamental Christianity that not many Christian people agree with.

It won't help you to "study" it, unless you study the surrounding history behind it. As someone else pointed out, you need to understand the culture the people you are reading about lived in. Otherwise, you interpret the words of the ancients in ways they would never comprehend.
God bless you as you go along your journey...

We read the Torah weekly, to go thru it in a year's time. I start a class this week on Genesis, and have attended many classes on the chapters of the prophets. I enjoy studying the Holy Scriptures.

ALTHO! I do not believe in pushing my religious beliefs on people in my everyday life. Christians do it so often to people, and I for one will not spend my time with such people. Thank goodness, my friends who are Jewish, Christian, and Muslim live and let live.
