I had one of them, and one time it didn't wait for him to get done with a number 2 before it started to clean itself. He got jammed inside it, and now he will not go near it . Also, he now number 1s and number 2s in my bed. He is ticked at me.

Most of the time when cats poo on the floor it is because thier litter box is too dirty. They like to stay clean. Try cleaning out the recepticle or adding some deodorizer to the litter. They sell it on the cat isle at Wal Mart.

The cat doesn't like the litterbox, even though it convenient for the owner, I would suggest getting a litterbox that the cat likes. I tried to change my cat's ways, and all I did was get a litter that doesn't make such a mess like Feline Pine...and she started peeing in the sink, and finding another place to poop, so I had to resort back to the clumping litter and scoop.

I really don't think your cat likes that litter box--try using a different one. If this still does not work ask your vet on suggestions because it maybe a behavioral thing

Your cat does not like/is afraid of the autopooperscooper. Try a new litter box or get a new cat. (or live a life of being a subserviant cat poop picker)
