Of those religions that believe in one God, they disagree on the "true" word of God. Thus, the different religions focus more about the different interpretations of God's word.

look in the mirror, how many people do you see?
while we believe in many aspect of god, many say god is One aspect not a divided self of three in one gods
I laugh when christians scorn pagans but then pray to father god, or Jesus, or to a holy spirit as if different but really three different aspects
the greeks made up different characters of what they thought a god was, and then individual temples for each one like Demeter for the crops etc
I feel god is what humans make up and create, and you can see the evolution of what people think god is..
my current evolution is that god is the energy during transfer of communication between us, sharing inspirations and giving hope, causing wonder, a connectivity where we bridge the gap that divides us...
I feel god is what connects us
we don't know the answers individually, but together we know all the answers
trouble is, the truth may not be what we are looking for and we don't accept it so we are presented with same god or truth many ways...what is true is what connects us and joins us and we agree upon based on fact and gut feeling
would you rather we be a Borg society of one aspect of religion where individuality was trampled or you could be imprisoned for your individual beliefs?
I loved this...god is Y!Answers incarnate timeless and profound, from another answer addict

ask da religions which hav cropped up few thousand years ago wid "sons of gods" showin da "right path"..
we hindus believe dat nature is god coz nature gave us birth.. even science agrees to dat..
so we worship forces of nature which even science admits have an effect on formation of life..
we dont believe in one god just as science doesnt believe in a solo factor for any cause..
also, dont think dat just because hindus worship cows they hav started worshippin all animals.. we love lord krishna n he shared a great bonding wid cows.. right from da time when he used to steal butter from his home [and neighbours'] to da time when he used to travel places on his cow.. he was peace-loving n so are cows..
remember, we ate cows till lord krishna intended not to continue it.
