Humility is something most people could describe but few can ever obtain. It is the art of doing for others without thought for your own personal gain. It is placing other peoples wants and desires above your own. It is listening to everyone's story without predjudice because even the fool has a story to tell and there is something to be learned from everyone if you shut your mouth long enough to open your ears. It is doing that which is right even when everyone else around you is doing wrong. It is leading a Godly life.

Humility is having the wisdom to know that there are greater things and greater purposes in this world. Humility is understanding that you are only a very small part of this universe. Humility is understanding that there is a purpose to your life which must be carried out by you and you alone. Humility is having the courage to fulfill the obligations that you have incurred in life. Humility is a gift.

Humility is the state of being humble. A humble person is generally thought to be unpretentious and modest: someone who does not think that he or she is better or more important than others.

Humility in my own meaning would be. Helping someone do something that they cannot do for themself. Take like working in a nursing home. I use to be a CNA and many times I had to humble myself and clean the elderly up. They could not do it for themselves, so we had to do for them.

http://wordnet.princeton.edu/perl/webwn describes the term as:
A disposition to be humble; a lack of false pride.

I think it has a lot do with not being overly caught up with one's personal accomplishments. It's a state of recognizing that your worthiness is not necessarily determined by your achievements. You serve a higher spiritual purpose, one that's driven by a great divine force :).

Humility is not thinking more highly of yourself than what you ought to think.

Jesus humbled Himself, and became obedient to death, even a death on a cross!

It is like underwear.
Essential but indecent when it shows.

Well, its a state of being humble, which is behaving like you know that you are not as strong as you know you are. Actually, more like behaving like you know that you are not strong, that you need to lean on God. Because you need to. Because you can't do it by yourself.
