My little girl has very short hair (ending at the nape of the neck) and will be attending a cheerleading competition at the end of the month. I don't see her hair growing over 1/2 inch before then and I am finding it hard to adhere to the regulations that her hair must be off of her face (she has bangs).

Any suggestions on how to get it up and out of her face?

The reason for the ruling is for safety concerns. Being a flyer or performing any stunts with long hair in your face could be dangerous for all of the obvious reasons. Unfortunately, we are not allowed the use of bobby pins during competition. We can use the flat metal barrets.

She could wear soft, stretchy headbands that you can secure in place with barettes or bobby pins. These would hold her bangs back.

I would try decorative bobby-pins, or those cute little jeweled clips. They seem to hold the tiniest of hairs up. I actually use those little "claw-clips" for my little puppy (who has very fine hair), and it holds for hours. Spray with some hair spray afterwards, and you should be fine! Good luck

You can try putting it HALF UP and then securing it with a few bobby pins. Or you could pin up just the one side of her hair. Or just pin up the front pieces.

use butterfly clips and colourful elastic bands to tie it in different sections. there shouldnt be a rule for that, people should be able to wear there hair what ever way they like.

Use mini-butterfly clips to get her bangs out of her face.
