Let's add candida (yeast) to the possible causes. This is a fungus that lives in our intestines. If it overgrows, it can cause all sorts of problems from white tongue to skin conditions to increased risk for diabetes, and other stuff in between.
There is some basic info on it at www.hufa.org.
In the meantime, Breath Assure, parsley, and maybe oregano would help.

You can try breath RX sold at some dentist offices, also I have seen at Walgreen. A tongue scraper is included and can make all the difference in the world. If gum disease has been ruled out.

Try this stuff called Breath Assure- it is i think parsley tablets that dissolve in your stomach. You didn't mention scraping your tongue. Then, wear a scarf, and whenever you have to talk, just casually hold it up against your mouth.

I had the same problem, according to my wife, and I did everything you did, minus the salt. My problem was my tonsils. They were huge and would trap food in them. That's nasty, I know. So I had them cut out and I have been minty fresh ever since.

Have you ever tried a tongue scraper? My ex used to use one... it's a long flexible metal object that you use to scrape the back of your tongue.... have heard it works for bad breath really well.... you maybe don't even have bad breath, but if you're concerned, it certainly won't hurt you.

It may be a physical problem that's causing this: thyroid, ulcers, diabetes..just to name a few. Talk to your primary care doctor about this..perhaps he/she can help you out.
