Well i can't believe that there is no time during the whole week when he could not stay over at your house if it is important to you.
I am also an academic and if you are creative at night then that is it, and thats the time you work.
Sometimes academics (especially men) dont have the best personal skills so maybe you should be a little patient with him.
Explain how you feel. It is not clingy or needy to say what you want from a relationship. What is clingy is to stay with someone who can't provide it once you have explained it because you are scared to be alone.
Good luck - if this one doesn't work out wait for a guy who can give you the relationship you want and deserve.

There should be a night when he's not working i suppose. That should be a good time to try asking him to stay over and let him know how much you'd like to spend the night with him.
About whether you're clingy..well I think its normal to have that feeling of wanting to see him more especially when you mentioned about him being your first guy. He sure means a lot to you...
No worries...I'm sure he'll be there for you one night. A good timing is probably what you need.
All the best!

It seems odd to me that he never wants to stay the night. Is your bed uncomfortable, do you have irritating rules, do you keep your place too hot, or too cold? Do you keep him up by snoring, or tossing and turning a lot. Do you have a cat, stinky litter box or possibly a dog causing an odor that bothers him? I'm not blaming you, but I'm curious, if there isn't something specifically that he does not like, why doesn' t he want to stay and be near you. It's weird. I would honestly be offended, and suspicious if my boyfriend never wanted to stay with me.

Everyone has their own quirks. I don't like spending the night at anyone else's house, I want to sleep in the comfort of my own home where I'm used to everything.

How do you know he's not seeing anyone else or even married? Trust me, if you invite a guy to sleep over and he doesn't it is a major red flag.

Don't push him to. If he doesn't want to he won't. You might be able to talk him into it but how would you feel knowing he doesn't really want to be there? If you want a man who wants to stay with you after sex, you're best to look for a new one.

Sounds like he goes home to someone else... Have you ever been over to his house and spent the night?

Why would he want to stay with you. He got what he wanted and he had no more use for you for that night

No it is not normal for a SINGLE or unattached Male. If you were my daughter, I would advise passing on this guy.
