(apart from videogame cheats). Is it because cheating is so widespread that people turn a blind eye to it? Do people in fact see it as ingenuity (which it isn't if you know how to cheat but choose not to)?

The government steals. It takes taxes from people at source and spends that money on it's latest fad. Some large building somewhere to make the government look important, some big dome to encourage builders to vote for them, some holiday complexes to allow cheap holidays for government employees, some more schools, hospitals and other expenses to support more money laundering by the government. You cannot avoid this cheat, unless you leave the country or you have no money or property for the government to steal.

The government does appear to prosper, and this generally occurs under labour governments. It gets fat and inefficient, and the only way for this to be rectified is usually a change of government.

This change has to occur as when the balance shifts so that there is no (or very little) capital or earnings for a government to steal, it starts printing money (in order to pay government laundry), and inflation as well as unemployment starts to soar. It cannot hide from this by manipulating statistics as the electorate are not totally stupid.

Cheats do prosper you are correct. However, in the long run cheats are found out and have a big fall. Humpty Dumpty would understand this analogy.

People do not turn a blind eye to cheats, they just recognise that they cannot currently do anything about it. It is not ingenuity, it is what causes much terrorism and unfairness in society. However, it has to exist for there to be an opposition to this form of evil. The balance in the long run is achieved by alternating cycles between good and evil dominance in society. A long run of evil results in persecution and crucifixion of the good. A long run of the primarily good, results in evil displaying its ugly head.

I also use videogame cheats! lol

Most of the people I know who cheats really bad, they're not prosperous. You will prosper temporarily (with whatever you will gain from cheating) but in the long run, karma will hit you straight on.

I dont cheat big time, just the small stuffs like printing a few stuffs in the office, which even if the manager sees in no big deal....I hope lol

People dont give a toss, when they cheat it's because they can and they don't have all they want in the relationship theyve got now. It's no excuse, If it were an ideal world, people would have the respect and say this isn't working I'm finishing this relationship and go look elsewhere but they dont.

They like to have their cake and eat it. And while people get away with it they will continue to cheat. I wouldn't and havent cheated, you get found out in the end, I'm a hopeless liar so he would know if I did.

Cheating is lame- people think thy've accomplished something when they haven't. Ultimately the thrill of victory comes from actually having beaten a tough opponent/aced the test/figured out the problem, and grown as a result. The cheaters are doomed if they ever had to do it again ;)

We all cheat at something, may be a diet may be at cards, but the truth comes out and one would not want to be known as a cheat, so the little ones keep us human

You made an exception...so you not only cheat...you lie as well.

- It's only cheating if you're caught...
- If you aren't cheating at sometime in you're life...you've never tried hard enough to "win at all costs".
