God wanted to the world to be populated.
First with Adam, and then since he didn't want Adam to be lonely, with Eve.
From there, the population has taken many directions, some good and some bad. We have all been given certain talents and purpose for our life here on earth.
God will judge us on how well we accomplished our mission.

Humanity was created for evolution of Life species. The human species had long existed due to progression of Life and for its compassion. For without compassion humanity had ceased its right to exist. A world cannot evolve through destruction. Its compassion that creates Life and Hatred that destroys Life. I do not think that God would allow Humanity to continue its existence if it had not deemed itself worthy and filled with Love towards the Creator and towards All of His creation.
