It is not recommended by doctors to irrigate your bowels. In fact, the solution forces the bacteria to the upper, more inner parts of your intestines which are supposed to be cleaner.

Consult another doctor on irrigation and find out if there are better alternatives to irrigation.

I am not sure what you are asking. I cant remember having to check anything before irrigation.

A colostomy does have to be irragated, I had one. I just dont know what you are asking.
