If its a maltese your thinking of they are great little dogs, and they dont shed, they have hair like us, perfect for inside and the cat will probably play with the pup.

Please don't think about getting a dog right now. Your family isn't mentally equipped to raise a dog.

First of all, you don't let your dog run loose at 5AM so as to not bother the neighbors. That is so your dog can do its business on the neighbors lawn and they won't know who did it.

Secondly, the dog your parents gave away was obviously never housebroken - it makes one mistake and they give it away!!!! When you have a dog, you MUST train it to go outside, but they will make mistakes sometimes and that shouldn't lead to giving them away.

A little white dog (or any little dog, for that matter) has to be kept inside because they would die if they were left outside.

Dogs are supposed to be taken for walks at least twice a day so they can poop and pee. You are supposed to carry a plastic bag so that you can pick up the poop and dispose of it properly.

It is just too much of a job for you and your parents to have a dog. Wait until you are older and more knowledgeable about owning a dog. Also, those little white dogs cost quite a bit of money - I know because I have one. He is the joy of my life and I take pride in properly caring for him.

I'm not trying to sound mean, but you need to understand the huge responsibility of owning a dog.

I think you should wait until you are older to get a dog. There are a lot of small breed white dogs. You should do a bit of research on the different breeds and discover which one would suit your home situation best.
You really shouldn't have a dog if you can not control it peeing on your carpet. Allowing a large dog to run free like that is not responsible dog ownership. You had no idea what he was getting up to while on the loose

Honey I am not going to be able to help you.Chances are your tom will not like a little dog either. And bringing a new dog inside you probably will have more pee on the carpet at first. And if this is a big mistake maybe you should wait awhile to get another pet.Sorry!

If you have to get permission from your mom to get a dog, chances are you are either still in school or living at home while working. She maybe concerned that the care, feeding and companionship of your dog may fall to her during the times you are absent from home. besides, introducing another animal into your household isn't a good idea either - animals are territorial and will "mark" their space - there goes the carpet (if you know what I mean) AGAIN. My advise is to wait until you get your own place... you'll understand why your mom discouraged another dog in her house.

I don't think you should get another dog until you learn some responsibiliy! You let your dog out early so people won't get mad? You mean so they won't know who's dog pooped on their lawn! Not very neighborly.
