because they are heartless bas_tards, like a lot of ppl on this site i've discovered. people just want to cause heartbreak and if you dont cause the heartbreak of others and keep them happy you are considered as crazy and taking the easy way out for caring
u selfish a$$holes out there know who you are, you make tons of lives miserable and as for the user "I love my husband", u must have married him as an excuse for a ton of shagging in my opinion coz nobody in there right mind would want someone to kill there husband for any reason, metaphorically or not!

It is considered socially unacceptable before it happens. We are all human and all have our faults but violence is not the answer, it is abuse and both of these people need help, statistics now show that the silence in abuse is on the mens side, women do abuse men and men are afraid and ashamed to report it as they fear they will not be believed, there are women's refuges everywhere.....what support is there for male victims of abuse? very little. I was in an abusive marriage and hit, thrown out of the house and belittled by a woman half my size......the socially acceptable answer you are all thinking is that because I am a man I must have done something to deserve this..........if that is what you think then maybe you can tell me how many women deserve to be treated this way? no one does.....there are many women that cry abuse when there is and never has been any just to get the sympathy of the courts in divorce cases, I'm sure of you research this you will see I am correct. False allegations can be very distressing and disruptive to a persons life. STOP all forms of relationship abuse physical and mental, it is not acceptable ever. Accept that abuse comes from both men and women before asking for it to stop from one side.

Abuse isn't about love or hate, it's about control. There are both men and women that abuse their partners, though men are far more likely to be the abuser. While it's never really been socially acceptable, it's been socially ignored in the past. And still tends to be ignored today. Maybe not by the police, but by family members as well as neighbors and friends. People are not willing to get involved, unfortunately. And the abusee is rarely the one that makes the call to the police either out of fear or false love. No man or woman that truly loves their partner will abuse them.
Again, it's not socially acceptable, but socially ignored. If you know someone that's being abused, take the steps to get that person help. If it's you, get help. It's out there.

Why? No idea. I guess some men can't control their anger or their frustration, although it's not ONLY men - I have heard of women who hit/attack guys too so it's worth mentioning that too.
As for when it will be socially unacceptable, to my mind it's ALWAYS socially TOTALLY unacceptable for a man to hit a women, no matter WHAT the provocation. As with all things, anyone is entitled to protect themselves and use self-defence as long as they use reasonable force to do so. No problem with that.
Anyway that's my 2p worth for what it's worth. :)

It is always considered unacceptable the same way as it is unacceptable for a 33yr old grown adult to impregnant a 14yr old and her parents be fine with it. Never is it okay for your partner to hit you, leave there are people and places that will help you. God Bless you and good luck. It sounds like the person 7 before me has issues, she didn't even really awnser your question, but ofcourise anyone who would let their child be with a 33yr. old has issues.

Never mind the "socially unacceptable" part, it's a disgrace! I can't understand what goes through a guys head when he does decides that he's "man enough" to hit a woman. I mean, would he like it if someone - anyone - hit him?
I rest my case.

Men who beat & hit women are very weak
physically and emotionally, and the same is
true for women who beat & hit men.
It's a disgrace and it is making everyone look
bad. For those of us who love and want to have
freedom, these people must be stoped because
we don't need the Government having an excuse
to control us,or those of us who don't believe in
violence in relationships,ect.........

I'm sure beating women isn't socially acceptable in any culture. The days of a husband being able to beat his wife with a stick no wider than his thumb was stamped out in the 1700s

I guess there will always be these men. I could not love anyone that much to stay with a man like that. A man that is so low he could not piss in a saucer, standing on his tiptoes. A man that does not deserve to live, while good men are being taken from us.
