think about the reality of when those veterans fought for that freedom.... up through the Korean war a woman could not show her navel on TV and they were just allowing them to sleep in the same bed.... their freedom of speech was tinged with propriety (somewhat extreme), unlike today when people's speech often vulgar, incomprehensible and leaves much to be desired. censorship in and of itself is not good, however limiting some things over the airways, i have no problem with - but it on after 9p like in the past. that's not censorship, that's common consideration.

I honestly feel you on this question, but it's a catch 22. I shouldn't get mad at when someone says something that is offensive, but the reality is that I probably am going to be and who knows how I might act upon it. Same for you. I think it all has to do with tact and how sensitive a person is.
Freedom sure does have it's limitations.

I agree with some forms of censorship but not all.. primarily I agree with the forms meant to protect children like movie ratings, video game ratings and music ratings.
Otherwise, if you don't like something on tv, movies, books, radio or the newspaper don't pick it up and read it or don't watch it or listen to it. You have choice - exercise it.

I am for censorship when is is used to keep filth out of my TV set, and raido, and news paper etc. There is nothing wrong with wanting a moral society. But this world is filled with imoral filthy sinful people that deserve to be censored

Free speech is fine nothing worng with it but it does have ts limit when degrades another or disrespects another Faith r customs. And Censorship is up to the eyes of the behodler and parents to sheild them from what this nasty world can offer.People fight for what they believe everyday but how you fight is how you will win. saying what you please works in many cases and many caes it is good to hold your tongue.

Free speech is a responsibility!
It does not mean you can say any garbage you want!
That is why we have libel laws!

WTF? NO - Censorship is the worse type of evil. It was used by the Nazi's, The Soviet Union during the cold war era, and it goes back all the way to Roman times. It is something that should not be used.

Apparently.
I've always believed that the only remedy for bad free speech is more free speech. Guess I was wrong. At least for the present. Is there hope for the future? Dunno.
