* small amounts of urine voided in each attempt,
* blood in the urine,

Bladder stone symptoms:

When my female cat (same age) had blood in her urine it was because of an infection. Take her to the vet! An antibiotic will clear it up. (Of course, giving your cat the antibiotic will be great fun!) I also feed her Hills Prescription Diet W/D food to help prevent this happening.

Like all the others i say take her to the vet. She may have a kidney problem. The reason she is being more affectionate is that maybe she needs help and wants to see if you can.

She is probably suffering from UTI (urinary tract infection) there is also the possiblity that she may be passing kidney stones. You really should get her vet checked since the latter could be serious if she is not passing them. cats sometimes get very affectionate if they are in discompfort. She could also be suffering from PKD polycystic kidney disease

I agree with Tom D and froggie. UTI's are quite painful for cats, so I don't understand the extra affection and eating. Perhaps a vet can figure it out.

you should bring her to the vet. blood in the urine can point to many different problems from a urinary infection(easily fixed with medication and diet change) to cancer(not so quickly taken care of). make a list of all of her symptoms to make diagnosis easier

Sounds like a bladder or kidney infection...Take her to your vet!
She will probably need an antibiotic treatment!
If you really care for her, don't wait too long to take her to the doctor!!

I'm not a vet (and I'm guessing nor are you) so there is no way I can answer this.
Get her seen by a professional, someone who knows what they are is doing.
Hope your cat gets better soon.
