WHY DO dogs LIKE TO LICK US?

Have you ever watched puppies with the mother dogs. Pups will run to the mother and they both lick faces. It is called love and security. Packs of wolves do that when one leaves and later returns, it is also the way one dog shows approval to another.

2.) Our body's releaseing small particles of salt and sweat and other matter which the dogs like to lick on.

This isn't pretty but.. wild hunting dogs send the adults out to hunt. They eat food then run back to the pups. The pups lick the faces of the adults who regurgitate it for the pups to eat.
