Rope jumping and height incresing?

Is rope jumping or skipping increase height?

If anything jump roping could contribute to height decrease after a many years of it, but not more than a few inches. The hard landing puts pressure on your spine and eventually does damage and compacts it.

If rope jumping increased your height wouldn't all boxers be super tall.
