Does anyone know the Name/type of test that a Doc did to me a few yrs ago to test my breathing out capacity. I saw Birthday Candles on Cake on computer-screen & i had to blow out those candles. I can't remember but there was probably SOMETHING else used in that test - that may have been hooked up to the computer----perhaps something i had to blow--out - in.

It is called a PFT (Pulmonary function test). I do these on a regular basis.

It's generally called a Pulmonary Functions Test (aka PFT) or spirometry. It measures your FEV1, which is the amount of air you expel in the first second of a forced blast, the FVC which is the total volume you expel before having to take in a breath, and how the various sizes of bronchial tubes are working. Some versions of a PFT will also require that you take in a deep breath when the expelled breath is complete.

I do home PFT's twice a day to monitor my lung functions, once a month at my pulmonologist's office and full-blown lung functions testing at the hospital once a quarter.

That is a Spirometer. Your "Vital capacity" was measured. Vital capacity is the maximum air one can breathe out after taking in a deliberately deep breath. It is computerised to know different readings related to age,sex and body weight.
