And ECG is the identical test to the EKG test. Both are short for electrocardiograph. Both take a one time snapshot of what your heart rhythm is doing while you lay on the bed or table.

A HOLTER monitor is a small EKG/ECG monitor that you wear for usually 24 hours. It monitors your heart rhythm while you go about your daily activities.

So if running up the stairs gives you a rhythm problem it will show on a HOLTER. Or if the problem happens while you sleep it will show on the HOLTER. A one time EKG/ECG can't capture those things.

Good luck

An EKG and an ECG are the same thing. An ECG is not an echocardiogram.
