Could be stale coconut milk or seafood ingredients (both common items in Thai cooking) or you can't stomach the redhot chillies.
Coconut milk and seafood (shrimps, prawns, oysters, fish) tend to go bad quickly at room temperature - cooked with 'stale' coconut milk and hot chillies, it's a sure fire way to River City.
We have no problems with Thai Restaurants in the tropical Far East even when we have "foot-long sausages" (rats) scurrying all over drains, sidewalks, lanes - it's the norm even in upmarket neighbourhood.

Nothing. The problem is yourselves. You have not got use to it yet.
Remember the first time I was sent to Jakarta, and the food make me sick too! Even when I am used to the spicy food.
When one come from a clean place to a not so clean place, our body do not have the necessary 'army' to protect ourselves, as the local already have those anti-body (army) to defence themselve, they have no problem with any kind of food.
So, endure for a while longer. You will be alright. By the way, do seek professional opinion from medical doctor to get proper treatment, it will speed up the build up of necessary anti-body.

Wow!
I am Thai... born and raised in Thailand.
I've never had that problem.
Thai food contains a lot of peppers, curries, and spices.
Maybe that's it?
