Oh there are all sorts of flavored hummus that are actually quite tasty spread on crackers for a snack. You can have it with garlic, sundried tomatoes, onions, and other spices.

Some of the hummus you buy at the grocery store is kind of gross. Homemade hummus is to die for though. Try getting some recipes off the internet and do it yourself. Or go to a Middle Eastern restaurant for some.

hummus -- is great. and it has lots of vitamins and calories. -- I am not sure what you don't like about it...probably you are right "les gouts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas" i.e. no discussion on taste and colors. The secret with hummus it has to be fresh -- not from the can -- and it has to be prepared from chick peas that were recently boiled -- again not from cans. Once you do that -- the ingredients are known so bon appetit.

I love it. You probably have not had fresh hummus. While vacationing in Israel, I had the fresh, real thing. YUMMY!

I didn't at first, but now I'm hooked. It's different. I prefer mine with toasted pita bread. I'll never buy it in the supermarket, only at the restaurants or delis.

It's just smooched up cici beans. It's yummy. Add more lemon and garlic, it'll make a man out of you.

I love it! I've never had babaganoush, but it sounds sort of similar to it. Perhaps you don't like it because it's got raw garlic. Try roasting it.
