I come from Pennsylvania, but haven't lived there in a long time. I've got an intense craving for chicken bbq like they make back home, however, when I try to search for the recipe, I only come up with bbq chicken, which is totally different. What I'm looking for is pulled chicken (white-ish in color, not red) that you eat on a bun. Nothing at all to do with grilling or bbq sauce, so it's kind of a misnomer. Thanks.

NO BBQ SAUCE - Pulled-Chicken Sandwiches
TOTAL TIME: 30 MIN
SERVES: 4
Classic eastern North Carolina barbecue sauce has a vinegar—not a tomato—base. It's delicious tossed with pulled chicken instead of the usual pork, and served the traditional way: piled onto soft buns and smothered under cold, creamy coleslaw.
ingredients
* 2 cups cider vinegar
* 1 1/2 cups water
* 1 cup dry white wine
* 1/3 cup vegetable oil
* 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
* 2 tablespoons dry mustard
* 1 tablespoon sweet paprika
* 2 teaspoons kosher salt
* 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
* 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* One 3 1/2-pound rotisserie chicken
* 4 hamburger buns, split
* 1 cup prepared coleslaw
directions
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the cider vinegar with the water, white wine, vegetable oil, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, sweet paprika, salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper and boil over high heat until reduced to 1 1/4 cups, about 15 minutes. Remove the warm vinegar sauce from the heat.
2. Meanwhile, remove all of the meat from the chicken and shred it. Discard the skin. Add the chicken to the warm vinegar sauce and heat through, stirring gently. Pile the pulled chicken on the buns and drizzle with extra vinegar sauce. Top with the coleslaw, close the sandwiches and serve right away.

BBQ Chicken Wrap:
This is as tasty as classic pulled pork-but it doesn't take hours to make. Add a side of cole slaw, potato salad, or corn on the cob for a fun cookout-style supper.
Cooking spray
1 small onion, chopped
2 cooked chicken-breast halves, shredded
1 cup barbecue sauce
Four 8-inch flour tortillas
2 cups torn (or baby) spinach or leaf lettuce
1 large tomato, chopped
Prep time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 11 minutes
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Meanwhile, in a medium skillet coated with cooking spray, cook onion over medium heat until soft, about 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
2. Add chicken and barbecue sauce to pan, stir to combine; return skillet to low heat and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through.
3. Top each tortilla with 1/2 cup spinach, 1/4 cup tomato, and 1/2 cup chicken mixture; wrap and place seam-side down in a shallow baking dish or on a rimmed baking sheet. Bake for 5 minutes until heated through and lightly browned.
How kids can help: Tear up the spinach; measure ingredients; top the tortillas with the spinach and chopped tomato.
Yield: 4 servings

Here's a good recipe:
Wash your chicken (boneless) put it in a pot and add a soda (pepsi or coke) then add garlic salt and BBQ sauce. Cook around 30 min. or until done. Then when done let it cool and then it will easily shred and makes good sandwhiches. It may not be what you are looking for. But it is good and easy.

Ingredients:
2 Regular-sized bottles of BBQ Sauce
6 Boneless skinless chicken breasts
Salt, pepper, your favorite chicken seasonings, Cajun seasoning
Steps:
Season six boneless, skinless chicken breasts to taste, and grill slowly until fully cooked, brushing with your favorite BBQ Sauce. It is very important to grill slowly to maintain juiciness.
In a pot, mix two bottles of barbecue sauce, salt, pepper, and spices to taste, and one cup of water, and bring to a boil while stirring constantly to prevent burning. Lower heat to simmer and stir occasionally while pulling chicken
Pull the chicken breasts apart into long shavings with two forks (but if you get tired after doing this for two or three, feel free to wash hands thoroughly and manually continue)
Add the chicken to the pot of BBQ sauce and stir until chicken is drenched. Continue to simmer while stirring occasionally for 25 - 30 minutes.
Serve on buns and enjoy!!
