It's hard to choose just one! A few I hear a lot:
Do you eat chicken? [Chick peas, yes, but not chicken.]
Do you miss meat? [Heck, no; meat disgusts me.]
Don't you know God wants us to eat meat? You'll go to hell if you don't. [Wierd; why should He get that upset about it?]
How can you murder carrots (etc)? [Carrots do not have a central nervous system; they can't be compared to cows and chickens.]
What do you eat on Thanksgiving? [Lots of great veggie food!]
Not even pepperoni? [Nope.]
Then why do we have those canine teeth? [We only have four of them - it would be very hard to tear raw carcases with our teeth the way true carnivores do. They are very handy for eating veggies, too, BTW.]
There are lots more, but I'm sick and tired of even thinking about all the ignorant things people say!

"so do you eat lots of salads?" I got asked that several times, but most recently, last night
MAN, isn't that the most annoying misconception? Just because I am a vegetarian does not mean when my friends go out to Taco Bell to eat that I go to the parking lot and munch on some grass... They also probably look at me and are in awe that I am not 20 pounds underweight from not eating meat for a few years. There are plenty of meatless foods that are not that great for you in terms of fat and calories, and they are plenty tasty, too.

Well I've been asked if I can eat animal crackers and why I eat eggs because that means im killing baby chickens. Oh and my favorite "where will you get your protein from?" I have no idea why people ask me this since I'm not vegan and even if I was there are vegan products w/ protein in them.

Vegetarian? What do you eat?? (imagining a dinner plate containing potatoes, corn and a huge empty space where the meat is "supposed" to go).
Or, the very common question . . .but you eat chicken, right?

The dumbest thing is when they ask why we eat live plants and not an animal, they both can feel so whats the difference.... I just want to tell these ignorant people (not stupid) to educate themselves...

i can't think of any dumb questions right now. but i have seen a lot of funny reactions. i had a japanese girl stare at me with her mouth open in total shock. i've also had a lot of people assume that i hated the taste of meat (which i did not. i really loved meat before i switched over). it seemed like they kept trying to reassure themselves that my actions were explainable by some strange physiological quirk that made meat distasteful to me and not that i used to really love meat but decided it was wrong to eat. And i've had a lot of people assume that i'm an animal lover, which i'm not.
